pushing up his interviews after the playoff loss, but let Judge go ahead with moving his up.
Think of the implications given McD was rumored to be a strong candidate in Carolina.

It is nice to think of BB that way, but it is hard to imagine that there isn’t another motive.
Here is the ultimate. BB plans to leave the Pats in one or two years for the Giants Director of Football Operations and GM job. He doesn’t want his first job to be finding a new coach so he picked the guy he wants to be there.
Oh right, plus, F Him.
The domino effect was the first thing I thought of - if Carolina spoke with McDaniels first, maybe the Giants get Rhule first and he never leaves the building. Maybe Carolina just hires McDaniels on the spot.
I like the Judge hire, just pointing out things might have been different if not for the Pats pulling strings. The fact that they let one coach interview and not the other is curious, with the simplest explanation likely being the right one, but you never know.
If losing McDaniels makes it more likely for Brady to leaves, wouldnt BB want to make things easier for McDaniels, so he gets what he wants (Brady leaving)?

[quote] Heir apparent... This makes sense. Kraft is no fool.
Is he interviewing anywhere?
Brady gone = McD to Cleveland
Brady gone = BB to ???
Agreed. And who said Belichick made any of these decisions anyway? You would absolutely at the minimum HAVE to get ownership to sign off on a move like this. So if true, this would have had to come from Kraft down.
