I just finished watching a video on Giants.com. It is the "Giants Huddle" titled "David Diehl on coach Judge's immediate impact". It is Diehl along side John Schmeelk. Diehl is a tremendous analyst and there is something to learn for everyone in this video. David uses many of his own personal experiences in the trenches to discuss different fronts, schemes, versatility, flexibility and game-day tactics all as they relate to our new head coach. Some very heady stuff from a man who spent many a day in those very trenches.
I was originally for stability, continuity and staying the course, but one thing very pertinent hit home for me. Schmeelk asked Diehl about the process of building a football team. He answered that the process does not happen over night and it takes time. Yet, potential needs progress to hit productivity. When you have assembled a talented group of young first and second year players, the group needs to make progress as a whole on a weekly basis, each and every single week. One thing I think everyone can agree on is this is not what took place with our young football team. I am feeling more positive that this will change going forward with Judge now in place.
In closing, I hope many of you will tune in to the video. It is a 32 minute watch and full of an abundance of great information.
Personally I welcome it ....Adjust to the opponent week to week....
Come on, people!
Here it is - ( New Window )
But when he speaks of offensive line play he is like a clinician, precise and informative.
I listened to him on BBK earlier today, it explained much of what has been wrong with that unit for the Giants
DD is def one of my fav GIANTS>
I am as excited as the next guy but the reality is that there probably not enough practice hours in the week to learn to play mistake free football.
Also all that stuff about practicing tackling.
How does Billy B do it without incurring the wrath of the union?
