to Cowher...."Let's go". If he got in Tomlin is on his way. Noll to Cowher and then Tomlin. The organization is amazingly run.
Classy that he paid tribute to Coach Shottenheimer who is really struggling health wise.
I do think that Holmgren should have been in first and not sure how you keep him out. More impressive resume and his coaching tree is tremendous with Reid as the highlight.

I think there is a personality factor that is in play. Cowher had the chin and the huge intensity.
Holmgren wore the glasses, looked more professorial, and was much less emotional.
So who is easier to remember?
Yet, like you said, when you study their accomplishments it’s pretty clear Holmgren doesn’t take a back seat at all to Cowher.
I was at a restaurant where the pre-game was playing but without sound. When I looked up and saw him tearing up and all the guys and I’m assuming his wife and daughter hugging and congratulating him I thought he was retiring from his TV gig. Ha.
RE: Is Cowher in for overall contributions or purely as a coach? Â
Because if it's overall contributions, Dan Reeves and Jimmy Johnson should be in way before Cowher.
And if Cowher's in for coaching, Coughlin should be a shoo-in and Holmgren should be in.
Pretty sure its based on a full assessment of football achievements from the field to coaching to the booth. The way the representative framed it when he awarded Cowher sounded like it was for his contribution to the game as a whole and not just coaching.
I don’t think of Cowher as HOF guy at all. Not ridiculous but I gotta say I was surprised. I’d much rather have Jimmy Johnson. Probably rather have Holmgren too. Anyway, congrats.

Based on that criteria Reeves have been in a long time ago.

He’s got a great record and super bowl
But did he really alter the game?
It’s really sad that guys like Mike Martz or Marty schottenhiemer won’t get in

Yeah
We don’t see the offense we have today without mike martz pushing into popularity. He changed the game forever with Kurt Warner
Did cowher change the game ??
His lone superbowl win was a hosing of the Seahawks.
In fact him running the ball vs the Colts almost cost him when the bus fumbled and luckily big ben made that tackle.
He was an intense player and HC, a good guy all around. Wish him the best and congratulations.
He was only the offensive coordinator for that Rams team that won the SB.
Meanwhile, Warner went to the SB with Arizona too
And can they stop the embarrassment and put Jimmy Johnson in?
And if Cowher's in for coaching, Coughlin should be a shoo-in and Holmgren should be in.
That’s the first thing that came to my mind
Based on this Coughlin is automatic.

no superbowl trophy (as coach)
