Interesting thought - Lawrence as the best QB prospect since Elway. There's been a lot of guys touted as the best QB prospect since Elway.
No doubt he'll be pick #1 next year - I'm really intrigued to see how he does at the NFL level.
He's the real deal in terms of physical skills. Size - plus. Arm - plus. Athleticism - plus. Toughness - plus. Running - plus.
And from what I've read, he's committed, smart, and good on the chalk room. So he's got everything that projects greatness.
I've said this before, and I don't think it's hyperbole, but if he was eligible for the draft after his senior year at Cartersville HS, he would have gone in the top ten, and maybe even #1.
A team who has played in a national title game in the last 4 years. They just crushed Utah. Sorry that's better credibility than any ACC team not named Clemson.
In Clemson's defense, they did schedule Texas A&M..who actually played Clemson pretty tough defensively, and gave them one of their better games outside the Tarheels.
RE: Have you ever seen a team fly under the radar Â
as much as Clemson did this year. They went undefeated and won the National Championship last year, but never reached number 1 in the rankings this year, despite going undefeated.
Just goes to show how the SEC is viewed. Here's to Clemson and beating LSU tonight.
I think it's more of how the rest of the ACC was viewed.
This is going to be the best National Championship Game in years Â
Dabo owns South Carolina right now and has already reached icon status. This is what he appears to love. Moving to the NFL now or in the foreseeable future just seems like a way to derail a good thing.
RE: RE: RE: I hated Dabo Sweeney but he has earned my respect Â
He’s never leaving the college ranks. He built that program up. He’s also probably going to be the next head coach of Alabama whenever Saban retires.
Name one good reason he would want to be an NFL coach?
Also, I think he would get eaten alive in NY.
I tend to agree the college seems to be his territory - for now. But priorities change. Maybe he will want a new challenge. Although I do think one of his boys is on the current Clemson roster...?
So if I was an owner in need of a HC, I'd always make the call.
One of the great QB matchups in recent years, arguably ever, in college football.
Lots of Draft talent to get a scout in on as well. Simmons, Delpit and Chaisson to highlight a few. Critical game in the Draft pecking order for some of these guys.
I recently read that Simmons could run a legit 4.4 at 6'4 235# with an albatross wingspan. If that translates on the field I mean c'mon we can't find a way to maximize that kind of talent on our defense?
I was saying that Clemson doesn't schedule any out of conference competition to compensate for a weak ACC conference. That's just a fact.
LSU faced the SEC and then scheduled Texas this year, who was #9 in the country when they played.
The ACC really needs to have FSU and Miami get their programs back to their previous levels....and fast. That happens and its a whole different scenario. Both schools are surrounded by talent in their backyards, especially Miami.

Miami will never be back. They are a private school and the higher ups hate the program and the attention it brings.
LSU and the under having let some earlier bets ride. But I’m a Clemson fan. I don’t lose much of the bets don’t pan because the original investment wasn’t that much. So, win win for me. Unless LSU wins but doesn’t cover and point total goes over 69.5. 😆
is that no matter what happens, Joe Burrow's performance will be dismissed by some as only occurring in one season, and if he was that great why did Ohio State not play him?

it's a damn shame what happened to that once proud football program.
FSU will be back. Jimbo Fisher really screwed them trying to get to a SEC school. Willie Taggart was the wrong guy. They need to upgrade their recruits and get kids with better grades, too. Miami, as stated, is sort of a small private school. They will good but not great.
Out of conference? Try out of state. LSU's longest roadtrip was to go to Nashville to play Vanderbilt. Clemson had 5 games against programs located in the Carolinas. Their longest regular season road trip was to go to NY. The farthest west they went was Kentucky. Let's see one of these chitlins champions travel to Madison, WI in November or change time zones and play on the west coast.
Treat this for what it is: an exhibition game to put dollars in the NCAA's pocket. National championship playoff my ass.
with the coaches room is on ESPN U. Awesome stuff to watch and listen to if you are a coach or are into the x's and o's of the game. This year the coaches are from OSU, TCU, Vanderbilt and Boston College

Yes. And why he's not on the radar of NFL teams - like us - astounds me.
Even if he wants to be a college lifer, you have to call him. He's built an absolute juggernaut.

Yeah, so far I think he is really good. Not in Elway's class. But what do I know.
And that is not true?

I think Burrow has exceeded Lawrence as an NFL prospect. Both great but edge Burrow. Love his combo of size, accuracy and mobility. LSU wins by 10.
Quote:
has the best player at the most important position - the best QB prospect since Elway, btw - and the best coaches.
Clemson repeats.
Yeah, so far I think he is really good. Not in Elway's class. But what do I know.
I think he's got better straight line speed than Elway. That long TD run in the Ohio State game was unbelievable.
Elway was probably the better athlete at this time but it's damn close.
I really don't have a knock against Lawrence physically. I said earlier today that I think he's got 5 categories that are Plus grade.
