both coaches groused about their assistants getting HC gobs and then poaching their staffs. They were really miffed by it. So no surprise that Judge is going to Miami and possibly other teams, rather than raiding Belichick's NE staff....

I couldn't a clip of the exchange but did find this piece from an article.
Quote:
"We've always had sort of a mutual respect for how we take each other's people," Saban told Belichick. "It's one thing that I always try to emphasize to the guys. What I have a tough time with is we've had however many guys who've worked here who are at Georgia, Tennessee, whoever, wherever. When they get those jobs, and in most cases, you helped them, then they have a hard time understanding why they can't take your people. I want to help you get a job so you can try to take what I've tried to build here and destroy the continuity of what I have. The assistants don't understand why that's not a good thing."
"I'm happy for the people who've worked hard for me to get opportunities," Belichick said. "I want to see them build their own program. When they try to tear down our program. That's kind of where the line, I feel gets crossed."
Gotta wonder if these moves are ok with Bill or not, since they are once removed from NE coach - ( New Window )
I would think Bill would be OK with it as they are no longer on his staff. My take on his and Saban's comments there is that they would be unhappy with a current/former assistant of theirs raiding their current staff's.
RE: Jeff, I have no idea how you speak with such authority on Â
Just kidding. I'm an Ole Miss fan, so I can get away with that.
How were his DL at Ole Miss?
Breeland Speaks and Marquis Haynes were both drafted relatively early. He's coached Josiah Coatney, who is also highly-regarded. Roach is an up-and-comer. Surprised a bit that they'd turn the whole DL operation over to him, rather than bring him on as an assistant. But JJ knows what he's looking for, so we shall see.
RE: RE: RE: If he's so good, why was he about to be fired by Lane Kiffin?! Â

That should play well in the Giant's locker room. Plus we can put to bed that stupid notion that someone suggested when we hired Judge - that the Giants is a racist organization.
RE: Have a feeling they already know who there OC is. Â
I would assume so. Having said that; it would, realistically, have to be a coach who is still coaching. Whether that be with one of the NFL teams or the Championship game tonight. I don’t know the coaching trees all too well, to know who that might be.
Only name that stands out is Wes Welker. But they were only together during the 2012 season, I believe.
And considering how raw he is in coaching, I couldn’t imagine it’s him.

people you probably never even heard of prior to them being hired.
You’re right, I’ll just get back in line and salute whatever comes down.
That's not what I'm implying & you know it. I have no freaking clue about these guys & don't pretend otherwise.
I think some will go out of their way to put a positive spin on these hires, while others will go out of their way to spin every hire as a negative.
What you said, meanwhile, is the truth: no one knows at this point what moves are gonna work and what moves wont. Im sure there is a vetting process, and the new HC is obviously way more familiar with the talents these coaches bring than any of us are.
My only real concern is that I hope we can hire an OC with some prior HC experience, what with Judge being a first time HC. Seems that would be smart....but again, what do I know:)

Jeff has his agenda (strong opinions) and he will not ease up letting us know about it. I think I counted, then stopped, at 10 posts of him moaning and groaning over the Graham hire. I’m sure Jeff wanted some older guy with a bigger resume instead of another x-Patriot 40 year old.
At a DT that I really like - Josiah Coatney. One of the more underrated DTs in the class. Active - NFL frame - Man Strength. Most importantly - a prefect fit for a multi-look defense.

“We’re gonna play violent!!” Goes along with what Judge said in his presser.
And I am ok with that.
I like this guy ... play violent ... did anyone miss a class ? No sir !
Not sure if you're serious.
Pretty silly if you are.

He would have had at Mississippi State. Except this is not college.

Why, are you confident with the staff so far?

Can't argue with that, they are two of the all time greats

Your confidence level with the staff means dogshit...you know that right? You have no connections with anyone in the NFL. You don't know anything.
How confident were you with the James Bettcher hire? I remember the overall fan reaction being pretty positive. How did that turn out?
Maybe unbunch your panties and lets see how it plays out.
You’re right, I’ll just get back in line and salute whatever comes down.

Gee, and I thought we were allowed to give our opinions on here.

So does Graham. Tomlinson is all of a sudden the prized pupil. Haha
Holy shit, that's a big guy..
Seems to be the teacher type Judge is talking about.

Might be asst DL Coach
No indication on his twitter bio (not that there would be) of a move.
Coach Freddie Roach on Twitter - ( New Window )
Definitely a little LT in him

Glad it wasn't just me
Hmm, is that such a bad thing? Until we see otherwise, maybe not.
Huh? Looks like LT?

How are you inferring that this was a negative post by me?
