Most important positions in order are QB, ER, LT and lock down CB
I don't see Thomas as a stud worthy of the 4 pick right now
Simmons is a great all around player, but not a pure edge rusher
Okudah can be a legit lock down corner, so he gets the nod. I would also expect that when it comes time for Sy' and Dave Te' to release their grades, they'll have higher marks on Okudah than Simmons. Just a hunch, no inside info there.
I'm not saying I agree but I think that fits with their scheme. That being said they can keep more players in the box with a corner like Okudah...maybe.
which we've pushed down the road by drafting Barkely and Jones. I don't regret those picks, but controlling the lines has to be the priority if the talent is there.
Esperanza would be my choice at the moment, unless you really like one of those OT's.
I think intelligence is extremely under-rated as a factor between busts/solid players. Sounds like it's going to be more important in Judge's schemes than most around the league. Unless one of them is head and shoulders above the rest, just pick the smartest guy.
RE: What does Simmons bring that we don’t already have with Peppers ? Â
and maybe a long snapper with the 2nd round pick? How about the novel approach that the Giants use just about every pick they have on OL and Edge Rushers/LBs.

As there will be teams vying for a QB. If not then I think Okudah makes the most sense, looks like he will develop into a true top 5 CB in the league. Simmons is intriguing I just don’t know if I like the idea of a player that doesn’t have a true position.
evaluations, the type of system on each side of the ball and then FA.
You know they need to fix the oline, they need ER and they need ILB with speed and coverage ability.
Peppers and Simmons are not the same. Peppers is 5'11 215 lbs. Simmons is 6'4 235 lbs.
I also think Peppers has been playing too many positions to know what he is best at. Just before he got hurt, he was playing better.
He won't be a lock down CB for us when QB has all day to throw. They CANNOT take another DB when Giants are getting their asses beat on both sides of the ball every game. Stop this nonsense. Until we can compete on LOS we will be picking top five forever. OL ER LB every damn pick until we get it right.
And I've been touting Simmons...I just think Okudah is the sure thing great player. I think Simmons has some risk with him.
Have to say, with his gifts he made plays last night, but he was also really bad on some plays. I mean REALLY bad. I saw him just jogging around a lot at times in pursuit...I'm looking for the motor and I didn't see that.
Simmons has the tools to be an incredibly special player. A defensive game-changer that can truly do it all like has been rarely seen. But he will need coaching. And I wouldn't ever put him at safety or corner again. I'd make him a 3-down linebacker, and he needs to be coached up.
Okudah is a lock-down corner that has such a low bust-factor, though. He would definitely make any defense better.
The only time he seems to blitz well is if he has a free lane to the QB. If an OL gets his hands on him, he's done. Completely stifled. He's not going to be rifling in free in the NFL

They are going to have about $100M to address the other deficiencies. If they land someone like Ngakoue, you would hope that would go a long way to solving the pass rush problem. Personally I'm hoping for Bud Dupree to at least be part of the solution.
Best lineman in the draft after Chase Young. Hill and Tomlinson are nice players but they're not good enough to prevent us from taking a game changes to pair with Lawrence.
Versatile player that can play in a 3-4 or 4-3.
Pre combine IMO it's way too early to be writing off this OT Â
Let's see if the cream rises to the top among Thomas, Wirfs, Willis, Becton.
I mean, imagine if Becton loses 30#, weighs 335 at the combine, runs a 5.00 40 yard dash has a 35+" vertical, has 36" arms and 11" hands, and scores 25+ on the wonderlic.
That would hurl him up draft boards in Tsunami like fashion.

1. Thomas
2. Epenesa
3. Simmons

It isn't debatable? What do you think this thread is?
Don’t disagree on Okudah, but not debatable? Of course it is. I wish use of that phrase was a banable offense.
By draft day it could certainly change.
This is of course true. But right now, Simmons with Okudah a close second.
Esperanza would be my choice at the moment, unless you really like one of those OT's.
it shouldn't be...drafting is for the future, much more so than a FA signing. take the best player regardless* of position
*obviously with a few exceptions
I think he's much better in coverage for one thing. Seems more versatile too.

lol, duh. Epenesa

The Giants must overhaul the defense if they have any chance to compete.
I really like Jeudy and an OT is tempting but an impact defensive player is my preference.
I would go;
Young,Okudah,Simmons,or Epensesa.

At this point, give me the best LT or RT, or I'd go Gross-Matos.
Trade down
Simmons
Then I'd take the best OT available. Though I can't believe we couldn't trade down a little.
Okudah would be fine if we address the OT position in FA.
