Interesting name popping up in this year's NFL coaching cycle (and last year's actually): Former #Giants and #Redskins LB Antonio Pierce. Currently LBs coach/recruiting coordinator at Arizona State. NFL teams have done their homework on him.

a Giant. I hope he does well.
Very not surprising

Probably the most intelligent LB we've had since LT (and probably more prepared, to say the least).

What he lacked in ab definition he surely made up in preparation and fortitude.

I'll never forget that play he made in Green Bay in the 2007 championship game. Unbelievable.

Good chance Pack score on that play if Pierce doesn't make that play. That RB had a convoy of OL in front of him.

If he doesn't make that play, I think it's safe to say that the Giants don't go to the SB.
I’m curious if he’s open to a comeback as a player

He’d likely still be out best ILB right now
One of my all-time favs.

Very astute and the heart of a lion.
Funny

I heard on the radio yesterday that he's interested in taking over at ASU once Herm retires.

Marvin Lewis has been working with Edwards in an advisory capacity. Pierce could learn a lot from both of them.

Herm just got extended through 2024, which takes him to age 70. Don't know what Antonio's plan is, but that might be a long time to wait.
the most underrated play. It was a game changing moment.

Still remember him going to bat for Eli & Coughlin before anybody when the heat was on them. It's a good feeling being so right about something like that.
Does he bring

Not used to seeing LBs make plays like that! I have high hopes for Connelly. Hopefully he recovers from his injuries quickly.
Not surprised.
an_idol_mind : 1/14/2020 5:29 pm : link
He was a brainy player (except for one night out with Plax).
I would love it if he were hired by the Giants

As LB coach. His intelligence was a big reason why he was such a solid player. He also has a fire that certainly helps inspire young players.

What is Chad Pennington up to these days? I’ve always thought he would be a great coach someday.
Good for him!

I would love to give AP a chance here! Same with Thomas "Pepper" Johnson... Sheee-it, throw in Ike Hillard!

The great thing about that play was that Pierce diagnosed the screen immediately, got a great jump, and had his right hand/arm on the ball almost from the moment he came into contact with Ryan Grant. That prevented Grant from spinning or wrenching himself away from the tackle.

Just a great, great play- probably the signature play of Antonio Pierce's career.

Think of this everytime I hear his name.
Get him in as LB coach.

Was Connnelly really that impressive outside of the Skins game?
bradshaw44 : 1/14/2020 9:43 pm : link
How are people so sure he’s gonna be a stud?

I mean I hope you guys are right. But locking him in as a sure fire stud seems a bit premature.

Amazing, yes, but underappreciated by whom? I know that most Giants fans think about that play as the signature play of his time with the Giants...
