This is what I would like to see the Giants do this offseason (only major moves) It will include two draft scenarios and 3 big free agent signings.
Giants current giants cap: 61.88 mil
Note we do not sign Leonard Williams to extension.
Cuts:
Alex Ogletree save 7.5 mil
Antoine Bethea save 2.75 mil
Rhett Ellison saves 5.0 mil
Kareem Martin saves 4.8 mil
New cap total would be 81.93 mil
Giants will need 13-14 mil for the draft picks (according to over the cap) so i will say that we have up to 67.93 mil to spend.
Re-sign
Marcus Golden 5 years 80 mil with 50 guaranteed (includes 5 mil signing bonus avg 15 mil per year)
He is our best pass rusher and has earned a new contract from us. Always gives 100%
Free agent signings
RT Jack Conklin 5 years 75 mil with 47 guaranteed (includes a 5 mil SB avg 14 mil per year). Better than Remmers and would lock down the right side with Ziegler next season.
3-4 OLB Bud Dupree 6 years 90 mil 50 guaranteed (include a 5 mil singing bonus avg. 15 mil per year). Pittsburg knows how to pressure the qb. I love Bud and think that he would be awsome for us. He will be 27 this year. Last year he had 11.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 3 pass defenses 68 tackles. KID CAN PLAY!!! Plus the Steelers have less than 2 mil in cap room.
This leaves us with 20 mil to sign other minor pieces and have flexibility going into the season.
Draft
Top 3 go Borrows-Young-Okudah in both cases
1st scenario NO trade back
Rd 1 Simmons ILB Clemson
Rd 2 Tee Higgins WR Clemson
Rd 3 Nick Harris C Oregon can learn for a year from Pulley who would start
(may need to trade up in rd 3 to get him)
2nd scenario Trade back with Chargers add 3 picks (2020 2nd and 4th 2021 2nd rd) not looking to be greedy
Top 5 go Borrows-Young-Okudah-Tua-Herbert
Rd 1 Simmons He falls cause both ahead need a qb
Rd 2 #35 Tee Higgins
Rd 2 #37 C/G Creed Humphries Oklahoma
Rd 3 BPA
Rd 4 BPA both times
So there you go. Its brilliant Our front 3 would be:
Lawrence-Tomlinson-Hill
Lbers would be : Golden-Connelly-Simmons-Dupree
Oline would be:
Solder-Hernandez-Pulley/Humphries/Harris-Zietler-Conklin
Top 4 Wrs would be:
Higgens, Tate, Sheppard, Slayton
Starting Dbs would be:
Beal and Baker Cbs
Love and Peppers Safteys
The rest you know
I know some of you may disagree....your wrong...im right... LOL JUST KIDDING!!
Thoughts?
I also think that they should sign a cheap vet for the outside spot with Baker as opposed to relying on Beal and Ballentine. I think it's too risky to go with your group as the starting corners
Yes it is Klaatu. Lol. I wanted him badly
Next up on my list is Mekhi Becton. Ur thoughts
Totally agree. And not sure even if golden will be a fit in our new DC defense whether 3-4, 2-5, 4-3 whatever.
We cant pay him and dupree that much dough . Article below is interesting one as its a buyer beware on Dupree
www.pff.com/news/nfl-misleading-sack-numbers-free-agents-2020
Pass rushers are tough to come by and the market may dictate we overpay again.

I know. You were touting him for a long time.
My jury is still out on Becton and all of the other OT's, although...if the Giants draft him and he turns out to be very good, I'll call him Mekhi Bactine, because he'll relieve some of Daniel Jones' pain.
I'm always leery of guys who turn it on in their contract years...like Dupree.
I expect Williams to sign along with golden and a pass rusher so maybe it's Dupree but I want judon

Agree, like Ricky Henderson used to do. Different sport, but same MO.
Also Creed Humphrey is going back to school.
;-)
He needs to start show us far more successes on medium type deals and find a few more overachievers versus underperformers.
Until his record gets back to neutral on experienced NFL hires, he should be put in “time-out” on Day 1-2 of Free Agency....

Yeah. Like that's going to happen.
Heavy sigh.

nobody on this board (nor Mara) should be confident that Gettleman should be swimming in the deep end of the pool.

Are we a playoff team in 2020?
Yeah. Like that’s going to happen.
Heavy sigh.

That doesn't matter. He's still the GM. Do you honestly think they're going to have him "sit out" the first two days of free agency? Get real. Neither of us like him, but he's got the job. Grit your teeth and hope for the best.
We all do.
But if it makes you feel better, I'll send my offseason plan to DG. It starts with backing up a couple of trucks for Corey Littleton, Aaron Lynch, and Anthony Harris.

Then he should've been fired. Can't keep him half-ass. He either does a job without restrictions or can him.
The whole plan is awful lol
