Forget having any average guards- the Knicks don’t even have a starting caliber top 50-60 nba guard. Think about how hard that is to accomplish with their recent high picks and spending 77 million. The front office should be cleaned out for that alone.
The league is nearly overrun with good quality PGs and lead guards. We haven’t had one since forever.
It’s why I still get mad about the summer and how supposedly the Knicks didn’t even try to sign walker or any other guard of note.
Walker was a done deal to Boston weeks before free agency - Knicks likely never had a real shot at him. I don't know why they didn't go hard after Russell though.

Can’t do that. Mitch and Barrett have their flaws but they are the true long term pieces on this team. Main focus needs to be adding to those guys.
I’d look to spend this offseason on a legit backcourt. But the Knicks will sign more shitty mercenaries to “maintain flexibility”
