NFT: RJ Barrett Turning a Corner?

Jon in NYC : 1/15/2020 10:48 am
Went 5/7 from 3 last night.

Over the Knicks last six games,
RJ Barrett is averaging:

19.0 points,
5.8 rebounds,
1.3 treys,
1.2 steals

And, most importantly, he's been efficient on the offensive end, shooting over 46% from the field, 42% from 3-point range and 78% from the free-throw stripe.

Easily the most important player on the team, and if he can keep this up that would be absolutely huge in the progress of the rebuild.
Man do we need RJ to be special

Not just pretty good. The dude needs to be excellent. Knicks just have to develop a home grown stud. And this time they can’t trade him away For trash because his brother is annoying.
This is too good not to share

Portis
TyreeHelmet : 1/15/2020 11:09 am : link
I know the contracts are structured differently for options/ length, but how the hell is Portis making the same as Morris and only 3 mill less than Randle. He's terrible.

Also- anyone read the Athletic article on the players commute to the practice facility in White Plains?
That pic is awesome Anakim!

OMG. Mills needs to get bitchsmacked. Dolan needs to do something this fuckin' off-season with respect to his so-called "(mis)management" team. Hopefuly we get Cole Anthony in the draft to play the Point for the next decade+ and a real basketball operations President/G.M. instead of the non-Hoops boob-head Mills.
RJ's done this against some pretty good teams, too.
bceagle05 : 1/15/2020 11:28 am : link
Very encouraging. I trust he'll get the shooting percentages up to an adequate level - he takes basketball very seriously and will work hard to improve.

Because Mills is terrible. Once folks accept that simple fact, all of the puzzling moves made at MSG start to make sense, lol.

That photo is priceless.

Perry is a beaten man, and he knows the weasel next to him will somehow survive.
Okoro
DanMetroMan : 1/15/2020 12:31 pm : link
is NASTY. He could be a lockdown 2/3. He's an improved 3 ball from being very, very intriguing.
Whenever someone makes the mistake of having hope for the Knicks

that photo should be sent to them.
I'm kinda warming up to Haliburton

if we miss out on the top guys. High character, good leader, big PG (6'5"), strong assist-to-turnover ratio, good defender and good shooting percentages (though his form is ugly as hell). If we're in that 4-8 range he may be the guy, though Mills/Perry like to gamble on upside guys who aren't as productive.

That's not me. It's floating around on social media.
Okoro time baby!
DanMetroMan : 1/15/2020 1:04 pm : link
"He has done that while shooting 57 percent from the floor, which is seventh among freshmen nationally, and playing stout defense while being able to guard any position on the floor and often being tasked with matching up against the opponent’s best player. Okoro’s defense—which benefits greatly from his physicality and effort on that end of the court — has caused Pearl to describe him as one of the top-two wing defenders he has ever coached, with Stan Gouard, the current head coach at Indianapolis who won a Division II national championship at Southern Indiana under Pearl in 1995.

Might be my favorite pic of all time. I love this man... whoever took that selfie, I love you. Bravo. You’re probably dead or near death, tied to a toilet bowl in a dark dank bathroom somewhere in the bowels of msg, but you win the day.

The Knicks deserve criticism for many things, but this is just stupidity. The teams don’t pay for the prizes. These are sponsored events. In this case it was the NY Lottery. The Lakers had a casino putting up the 100K.

I guess the Knicks should just stop doing it altogether if a 6 figure sponsor doesn’t step up.
