Random question about 1978 season

So I’m to young to remember, why did the giants play Tampa twice in 1978? Am I missing something obvious ?
When the league first went to 16 games,

they had uneven divisions (2 with 5 teams and one with 4). To make the schedule work, they had the last place teams in the 5-team divisions play twice the following season. So we played them twice in 1979 as well, since we were both last in 1978. In 1980, the Cards and Lions played twice.
there were 6 divisions then

and the fifth place team in the NFC East would play the fifth place team in the NFC Central twice.

In a previous BBI thread, I listed all the occurrences of this - for example, the 2 games vs DET in 1988.

I believe this went away when Carolina and Jacksonville were added.
They played twice in 1979 and 1984 too

Unbalanced scheduling quirk - it was rare but would happen every once in a while

The Giants played a non-division opponent twice

1978 vs TB
1979 vs TB
1981 vs GB
1984 vs TB
1988 vs DET
It would have happened to any team finishing in 5th place
