Anyone else taking comfort in Judge taking his time?

I actually like the fact that hiring the new staff wasn't done in a couple of days.

There really..

is not a Vrabel connection to NE from a coaching standpoint. He was a player there.

The way he's brought up with TENN's success the past couple of months, you'd swear he fell right out of Little Bill's left nutsack.

But the appearance is he himself didn't think he would get a HC gig yet.

I think that's pretty unfair to jump to that conclusion.

The league year hasn't even ended yet.
Your right

Fatman but you have to admit The OC Arthur Smith is doing a heck of a job especially with the beast they have at RB

You're correct but the real link is via Romeo.

But there is the tricky part about the teams still playing and the OC still under contract and like Buffalo, they need not grant permission for the interview.
my interpretation

is that historically much of the coaching staff was assembled with heavy guidance from GM/Ownership. The HC was hired with the notion of getting on board with management, rather than the other way around. I haven't seen this view debunked.

In this view of the world, a lot of the assistants could be lined up and ready to go once the final decision on HC was made. Management doesn't need to wait for the HC to be in place before reaching out. Thus things would go quicker.

In the world where the HC is in the driver seat in assembling a staff, preliminary work can't begin until the HC candidate actually has the job. Judge might have a wish list in mind at time of interview and may have reached out informally, no real action could begin until he was chosen.

As with most things, I doubt it is as black and white as all one end (or the other) of the spectrum.

I'm

totally on board with whatever Judge wants to do. After all, it's his baby now, and he's got to make sure everything is right going forward.

...... So I'm a little concerned especially with the idea that Getts could be influencing the selection of the staff.

Where does this shit come from?

It's the ingrained thought that everything Gettleman touches turns to shit. Some folks conjure up all kinds of excuses to drive their agendas.
Not that he's just taking his time

but that he is exploring every avenue to fill out his staff. He hired the DC from the Dolphins and attempted to bring in Daboll despite it being another lateral move.

If he lands Bill Callahan I will be very excited about this staff.

People join these forums for many reasons ... some looking for an insiders view ... some looking for positive debate ... some because (Giants) misery loves company and some because they have wretched lives and feel the need to spew garbage at every opportunity ... the build yourself up by knocking others down mentality ... objective criticism is one thing but mindless rants are another.
Maybe some of his preferred choices are on teams still playing?

My comfort level is not a factor. I'd rather have the right guy later than the wrong guy sooner.

I will NEVER get this we're all in this together delusional bullshit. All the fucking fan hand-wringing over stuff we have absolutely no control over.

It's like saying, "Gee, I really wish my Diet Coke can was orange and black instead of red and white. And I sure hope they change that can from 12 ounces to 14 ounces. And I'm gonna stay up and night, losing sleep obsessing over it, and call into Diet Coke Can Kickoff, and bitch and wring my hands over what isn't, who's running the company, and how badly. And I'll be really upset if they don't change the color and size of the can. How can they not?" But come September, if you've decided to still drink Diet Coke from a can, it'll still be a red and white, 12 oz can.

The only impact you can have as a fan is to not buy tickets. Empty seats are the ONLY thing Maras ever notice that causes changes to happen.

But as for who and what WE want? And what WE think is right? Even when the fans end up being right and the Giants wrong. WE (fans) aren't THEY (the team), and THEY aren't WE.

So I don't give a flying F who Joe Judge hires and how long it takes as long as HE knows what he wants, and has conviction in who he hires. Take your time and get it RIGHT for how YOU want to coach. Not for what I or any fan think looks like a good hire on paper.

I'd rather have a kick-ass no-name than an ineffective, big name retread, any day.

Are you mad bro?

Seem overwhelming to me, thus it is difficult to relate to anything they do and formulate a strong opinion.

What impressed me about Judge was he came across as someone detailed oriented to the point on a weekly basis will develop ways to exploit another teams weaknesses by putting his players into position to utilize their abilities. This is preferable to being married to a system which is something we have seen with the Giants for a while now.

How long he is taking to hire his staff I believe is a reflection of his attention to detail, seems like a good thing to me.

+1
Looks like he is interviewing those who will coach and teach
TMS : 1/17/2020 1:31 pm : link
according to how he sees a team develop. Thats what he was hired to do. Let him do it.
I am glad he is taking his time...
EricJ : 1/17/2020 1:34 pm : link
and we should not panic when we see someone interesting get hired by another team.
