NFT: Squarespace email quesiton

giantfan2000 : 1/16/2020 9:14 am
does anyone use Squarespace?

I am helping out a friend who is putting up an e-commerce store
what is the deal with emails?
you have set up and pay for a separate email hosting?

She wants 3 emails for her and her two sales people

how does one do this best?

Should be able to integrate the G Suite (Google Suite)

into Squarespace. I believe the first year is free. Will give them ability to setup any emails they need, and give them all the Google Apps to use as well (Calendar, Drive, Docs, Spreadsheets, Slides, etc)

but if you want multiple users you have to pay for multiple G suite plans?

I am used to Web hosting where you can just create as many emails as you want

The G Suite plan charges you by number of users/emails. The Squarespace G Suite Plan includes 1 account free for a year. Each additional account is $6/mo and also gives you 30gb of Google Drive storage.

Your other option would be to look into a separate Email host (there are free options out there, not as good or nice as G Suite) and then update the DNS settings for the domain. I do not have a free email host to recommend.
thanks again

it is crazy that they do not do email hosting and to get an email set up they charge
per email ...

so weird ...

Does she really need email on her site?

Seems antiquated for e commerce.

Plus, it gives loony customers a chance to write long emails, to which you then have to respond.

well it is not email for the site
it is hooking up custom domain emails

it is weird that a website creation company make you pay for
yourname@yourdomain.com
and if you want other emails they make you pay for that as well
