Ok, so what if a baseball team won the World Series and were spraying champagne all over each other. A cop walks in and in the heat of the moment a player sprays him. Arrest?
Who slapped the backside of a reporter a month or so ago?
(CNN)The man accused of slapping a news reporter on the backside while she was reporting live in Savannah, Georgia, last week has been arrested and charged with sexual battery, according to the Chatham County Sheriff's Office.
And it wasn’t malicious at all. I think the officer needs to lighten up a bit. You’re in the locker room after a national championship win. Give me a break.
I just watched the video. The expression on OBJ’s face along with the fact that he was backing off immediately tells me that even he knew a line was crossed and he was getting ready for a possible tussle.
That doesn’t look like the demeanor of someone who doesn’t think they did anything to warrant retaliation.
Self implosion? Moron? Not defending OBJ here, but the real assinine maneuver here is by the cop(s).
And originally a "sexual assault battery charge?"
Fucking ass clown of a judge, too. Those attempted charges should have laughed right out of court on the spot.
Your tax dollars at work with these fucking idiots.
This country buries hundreds of millions, no make that billions, of dollars each year into corrupt and ludicrous law enforcement policies...
But can't guarantee decent medical care for all its citizens, wealthy or poor. We should be deeply ashamed of ourselves on so many levels.
This cop and judge should be reprimanded tout suit and the ridiculous charge dropped like a hot rock.
IMO
Wtf, come on guy. This has nothing to do with taxes and health care. Why would you even go there.
These Cops are paid by county or city government anyway. If you live in the New Orleans area, feel free to petition the city/county commission to change policy on where, when, and how the cops should do their jobs. Otherwise, this cop has nothing to do with anything that effects your life nor does his job performance here mean anything on a national scale.
RE: Some of you should go find a police officer on duty Â
of respect being shown here by the person filming and then OBJ. He literally taps another person as if watch this and then smacks the office on the ass.
Like someone said earlier, I say to any of you acting like this is nothing, go find a cop who is engaged in conversation with another person and smack him on the ass. Wanna bet things end quite differently than you say they should here???
After a big game... lol this is actually hilarious. OBJ arrested and cut for a locker room butt slap after LSU won a big national championship game!?!?!? What the fuck?
You didn't watch the video, did you?
The cop is a little fucking bitch for not letting those guys celebrate Â
Use fucking discretion. I've just been to Boston for a few weeks on business and I shit not, terrorism is winning in this country and freedom is fucking dying. I'm pretty excited to get back to Florida.
Personally? I wouldn't put my hands on a cop. Period.
I’m. Not saying it was a good idea, and I for sure would not have done it, but the cop could use some discretion here. It’s possible his superiors could
have seen the video and issued the warrant I guess.
Didn't see LSU's statement on the OBJ money thing get posted:
Quote:
“We are aware of the situation regarding Odell Beckham Jr. interacting with LSU student-athletes and others unaffiliated with the team following the championship game Monday night. Initial information suggested bills that were exchanged were novelty bills. Information and footage reviewed since shows apparent cash may have also been given to LSU student-athletes. We were in contact with the NCAA and the SEC immediately upon learning of this situation in which some of our student-athletes may have been placed in a compromising position. We are working with our student-athletes, the NCAA and the SEC in order to rectify the situation.”
Some people on BBI will defend OBJ no matter what. It’s actually sad.
He slapped a cop on the ass while the cop was trying to do his job (whether you think what he was doing was over the top or not is irrelevant). Then after smacking him on the ass, danced and mocked him in front of his face.
Personally? I wouldn't put my hands on a cop. Period.
I’m. Not saying it was a good idea, and I for sure would not have done it, but the cop could use some discretion here. It’s possible his superiors could

I'd argue he did use discretion by not arresting him on the spot.

This is probably over-policing AND OBJ also crossed a line and deserves what he gets. I'm sure there will be a settlement reached and charges will be dropped.
Between him handing out cash to players and this, I've come to the conclusion that OBJ hates money.
someone who has worked in law enforcement for almost 20 years, I have never and will never let anyone touch me in that manner. You push me, you get cuffed. You slap my ass (happened in 2008), I cuff you. Let the judge figure it all out but I am not going to stand there and get disrespected. The lack of consequences to those that do these things coupled with the lack of action by today's Law Enforcement is what birth's things like water dousing of Police Officers in NYC etc.
People in this country still fighting the cival war. I don't even like Beckham, but this is the kind of shit that makes me want to puke, they going to lynch him for it. Get the hoods out first. The nerve of Beckham, in you forgot where you are, here is a reminder. I hope Steven A. runs with this, makes me asshamed.
Lmao!!! Makes you ashamed of what? It's people like you who are part of the problem but sadly don't have a clue. There is no reason for OBJ to put his hand an officer. That man is simply doing his job and that asshole OBJ just had to cause a problem. I hope he gets charged and in your words "lynched". Black privilege covers a lot of bullshit but putting your hands an a officer doing his jobs isn't one of them.
It was clearly all about being in the spotlight while attempting to appear generous by giving LSU players cash. Players who are about to turn pro and make millions in 4 months. Despite the fact that those players can't be punished for accepting cash since they are leaving LSU is now in danger of being penalized by the NCAA.
RE: Some of you should go find a police officer on duty Â
Surprised that people don't even see the bigotry, after all, it is encoured in todays society, how disrespectful of him, to go into a lockeroom where he is welcomed and to dare to celebrate by slapping a cops ass kidding around after winning the national championship. Wow what a horrible example to these players, what a crock of bullshit.
There were rumors during the season that he wasn’t happy on the Browns and would like a trade. These little antics like handing money to the LSU players and “assaulting” an officer may be enough to force a trade (especially since Dorsey isn’t there anymore) but probably not enough to scare off other teams. Maybe genius... or maybe just insane
All these college games have too many cops hanging around trying Â
the cop to be in the locker room. Even stupider for OBJ to do that.
That could have escalated quite a bit had the cop arrested him imo.
Bottom line you don't touch a cop and if you do the law says you will be arrested. I think this is a face saving measure by the police for the video getting out and someone higher stuck his nose in it. Once the cop did not arrest him on the spot it should have been let go.
in the situation which he probably should have chilled out. Odell decided to do something about it, which is friggin stupid because you don't put your hands on a cop...period. And Odell can't help but stick himself in dumb situations that are distractions, which is why the Giants shipped him out.
I'm sure shit will spiral into all kinds of lines being drawn because that's the world we live in when there are nuances involved.
but when I saw that clip on Twitter, my first thought was: Is he drunk?
The cop, regardless how anyone feels about why he was doing it, was engaged in his job. You can't just fucking come up and slap a police officer on the ass.
This guy just cannot get it the fuck together.
I feel bad for him, but I'm glad he's not a member of the New York Giants anymore.
To go along with what Chris684 said, if this was a friend or family member of yours getting their ass slapped while doing their job I'm sure you'd raise holy hell.
The fact that people are seemingly OK with people, no matter who they are, putting their hands on a police officer, regardless of the situation either shows what this society is coming to and the lengths people will go to on here to defend Beckham.

the more i realize they have to make an example out of him because every kid who idolizes him is going to be running around slapping police officers on the ass
I think it was one of the playoff games, a player slapped a camera man or security guard's ass as he was going into the locker room and you could see the guy was noticeably uncomfortable. I'm really trying to remember who it was...
If you pay attention, athletes and coaches are literally slapping each other's asses at ALL times, and I guess when you take it outside of people involved in the sport it's obviously not socially acceptable, and that was the line OBJ accidentally crossed in a moment of elation.
I used to really appreciate OBJ's talent back in the day...... Â

Just odd behavior all around.

I'm sorry!
Slapping a cop on the ass is smart business apparently.
Ok then...
You didn't watch the video, did you?
I’m sure his higher ups saw the video and were pissed he didn’t arrest him. You can’t put hands on a uniform officer.
I’m. Not saying it was a good idea, and I for sure would not have done it, but the cop could use some discretion here. It’s possible his superiors could

Try to keep it in context. I’m on the dense with this one, but your example doesn’t work for me.
Lol Fence, not dense.
Are you sure?
EXACTLY.

I'm pretty pumped to see what it devolves into by evening...
If we could nominate some BBI'ers I would pay big money to see that.
I don’t want to see an incident but they are just there for easy overtime.

Thank you, Cleveland!!!!!
What a moron.
I am not saying what the cop was doing was right either, but OBJ is paving his way into the under-achieving, over-clowning Hall of Fame!
My father used to say that your reputation is everything. Obivously he doesn't care that he is now an ASSCLOWN right now!
People have been shot for less.
