Note how we were repeatedly screwed by the refs..
Note how Rogers missed key wide open passes
Note what a beast Hakeem Nicks was.
Note how great our OL was.
His Super Bowl 42 performance was overshadowed a bit by Tuck and Strahan, but he was great, even against the run that night. He was banged up in the second half of the 2011 season, but got healthy just in time for the title run and really changed the defense.
but i'm still mad about that fumble by Greg Jennings in the 1st Q
Initially ruled a fumble on the field. Then on the field they change it to down by contact, even though the whistle wasn't blown. Then there is clear video evidence the ball was out before he was down but they let it stand.
That was horrible officiating 101. They should teach that as what not to do as an example

I still think Tuck deserved SB MVP, not that I'm complaining. He played out of his mind
Imagine if the Giants weren't decimated by a voodoo run of WR injuries. We could have had Nick's, Smith, Cruz, and Manningham for a decade. Hell, they could all. potentially still be playing!
This is so true. My memory of the 2011 offensive line is that Eli was running for his life, but when I see highlights I realize that offensive line was so much better than what Eli suffered through his last few years.

MOST of 2011, Manning was running for his life - the OL had MAJOR injury issues, seemed like everyone got a shot at center that season. WORST rushing attack in the league.
In 2007, the Giants jelled during their playoff run, becoming the best team in the NFL - the OL was the best the Giants ever fielded.
In 2007, I'm sorry. Eli Manning carried that fucking team on his back. Tied Unitas' 4th quarter comeback record, this team had MANY problems, and frankly had no business even being in the playoffs. The playoff success and Superbowl Championship were a combination of the right players getting healthy in time, and others just playing out of their minds.
Some 2011 factoids:
- The Giants scoring defense was the lowest of Super Bowl winners, ranking 25th after allowing an average of 25 points per game.
- The Giants' rushing offense was ranked 32nd (dead last) in the NFL with 1,427 yards, or an average of 89.2 rushing yards per game.
- The Giants finished the regular season with a -6 point differential (394 scored, 400 allowed), the worst differential of any Super Bowl champion.
- With a 9-7 regular-season record, the 2011 Giants were the first, and are the only, sub-10-win team to win the Super Bowl.
- The 2011 New York Giants won their first playoff game at home since the 2000 NFC Championship against the Minnesota Vikings during the Wild Card game.
The warning signs were everywhere on that team. Manning was in his prime and proved he could carry them, but only to a degree.

I guess my bar is low lol

2) Our defense pressured the QB and created turnovers.
It's really striking how far we have fallen in these areas.

The JPP dallas game
the Dallas "playoff" game (or play-in game) which should be considered a playoff game.
