My wife was watching the season finale last night and she noted that in the description it said Series Finale. That sucks I was really looking forward to season 2.
would bring back Watchmen if Lindelof wanted to do it but he doesn't want to continue it and it looks like they're respecting that choice. Too bad for the viewers, but what a season of television that was
Show runner/ creator Damon Lindelof left saying he had no interest in continuing.
He gave them his go ahead to continue with a new show runner but the HBO has said that they have no interest in doing that.

HBO programming chief Casey Bloys revealed that Watchmen showrunner Damon Lindelof isn’t interested in returning to do a second season of the critically-acclaimed show.
“It’s really in Damon’s thinking about what he wants to do. If there’s an idea that excited him about another season, another installment, maybe like a ‘Fargo,’ ‘True Detective’ (anthology) take on it, or if he wants to do something different altogether. We’re very proud of ‘Watchmen,’ but what I’m most interested in what Damon wants to do,” Bloys said.
And although Lindelof did give HBO his blessing to continue the series without him, Bloys said it’s unlikely.
“It would be hard to imagine doing it without Damon involved in some way,” he said.
Love, love loved the show. One of the best things I've seen on TV in the last few yr. But I have been following S3 updates and with Fincher's schedule and Netflix being fickle I was afraid it would get canned. Really disappointing.

Too bad. Watchmen was excellent.
Agreed that it was excellent - but it stands on its own as a helluva ride beginning to end. Perfect in the 8 episodes that it was. I'd love another season but not at the expense of it declining.

Not a fan of Watchmen
Agree. Mindhunter was a great show, Netfkix cancels some great programs. I knew nothing about Watchmen before the show. Watched the first episode and liked it...went downhill from there. Maybe reading the comic books would have helped but just too out there for my likings.
I thought Watchmen was good but not great. Its central metaphors somehow felt simultaneously overwrought and underdeveloped.
However the acting and directing were excellent, and the story really picked up steam in the later half of the season (with the possible exception of Episode 6 in which Angela experiences her Grandfather's memories, which I thought was fairly boring overall.) The finale was excellent.
It's not as if there is a lack of serial killers. Was a really good show. That's too bad. Netflix has killed some really good programming. Seems like they are moving towards a model of buying programming from UK instead of producing their own.

Yep agreed. I just finished watching it a few weeks ago and immediately searched news to see if there was a season 3 in production and they didn't sound enthusiastic. They mentioned with Fincher so busy that there was no plans for a season 3 on the horizon. Interesting with all they teased every epi about the guy in Kansas that they'll never cover them getting involved at all.

They've always licensed/bought BBC shows. This has to do with FIncher's schedule, apparently. Technically it hasn't been cancelled, its on hold indefinitely.
I loved S1 of Mindhunter, but didn't like S2 as much. I thought they spent way too much time on Tench's son and the ATL child murders. The former being just kind of weird and the later dragging on too long.
Also, I don't know if its totally cancelled. At least for now. I thought I read that they let the actors out of their contracts because Fincher was too busy working on other projects so instead of just holding them up on it, they can look for other work. Of course this could have changed in the last 24 hours.

While I agree S1 was definitely better, and agree they spent too much time on the son. I do think though that they tied the whole son story line in towards the end when the light bulb went of with Tench where he realized with all the work they were doing trying to get into the sick criminal mind and where it starts and him realizing that his son was showing these characteristics.
Think they could wrap it up in one final season, but what a shame, one of the best series on Netflix. I'm in the minority but just couldnt get into the Watchmen.
I thought the first season of Mindhunter was terrific. Second season fell off considerably. Would love another season the quality of 1 but I don’t need to see another mediocre series on Netflix. Still, with all the lousy shows they produce you’d think they could keep middle of the road productions like MH around long enough to wrap up. I was disappointed about The OA more than any other so far.

I just saw episode two of the Outsider last night. This show is excellent.
