Coaching Staff Thus Far

Eric from BBI : Admin : 1/17/2020 9:03 pm
This is what I've got. We don't know about ST assistants (in interim I kept all but Quinn) and strength and conditioning staff (I kept all for now).

Ah, no not really. Important , yes. Most important, that is the OC and he's probably a really good one.
Big, Big Holes

Yet to be filled : OL, DB, LB, and TE coaches will be key, of course.
If Judge
YANKEE28 : 1/17/2020 9:34 pm : link
is that comfortable with former Alabama coaches, then you can't rule out Bobby Williams for the Giants Tight End coach.

Williams and Judge were together at Alabama, and Saban took Williams to the Miami Dolphins.

He is 60 years old and currently the Tight End and Special Teams coach at Oregon.

Many of us on BBI were surprised when Lunda Wells was not retained. Judge must have somebody strong in mind for TE coach to pass on Wells.

pretty excited for this staff
larryflower37 : 1/17/2020 9:38 pm : link
It's been a long time since the Giants revamped the staff like this.
IMO
Eric from BBI : Admin : 1/17/2020 9:39 pm : link
the key here is the DC. I hope they know what they are doing there.
Can you imagine if the new offensive staff had
YANKEE28 : 1/17/2020 9:43 pm : link
Jason Garrett (last year Head Coach of Dallas)
Mike Groh (last year the OC of the Eagles)
Bill Callahan (last year the interim HC of the Redskins)

Can't see it happening, but who knows. Groh and Judge coached together at Bama.
Hats off to ERIC

The OC can calll the right play but if we keep having OL communication breakdowns than it does not matter.

Freddie Kitchens and the several O Line coaches you mention are immediately available, yet we have heard nothing.

I think Judge is going to surprise us with the remaining hires.
DC
AnskyJK : 1/17/2020 10:29 pm : link
I agree Eric, most important hire. We have enough pieces on offense that even a mediocre scheme will be good enough. On defense we need our coaching to excel. Graham is a wild card, was hoping for someone with more of a proven record
There are a few good coaches still out there
Anakim : 1/17/2020 10:32 pm : link
Freddie Kitchens - perhaps as TE coach?
Brian Angelichio - TE coach
Kevin Gilbride Jr. - TE coach and a familiar face
Mike Groh - I don't know...
George Edwards - LB coach
Antonio Pierce - LB coach
Joey Porter - LB coach - how fucking cool would that be?
Marquand Manuel - DB coach
Kris Richard - DB coach
Jerome Henderson - DB coach
Jerry Gray - DB coach
Ray Horton - DB coach
Perry Fewell - for shits and giggles :P

I mentioned potential OL coaches in another thread

that graduated from Yale, its amazing to hear how many "ya know" comments you get from Graham in an interview.
From the article
Mattman : 1/17/2020 10:36 pm : link
He and (assistant former coordinator) Tom Quinn do an outstanding job of working together, coaching the players in techniques and coming up with schemes for game plans that allow them to apply pressure on the opponents."

Sounds like he wants Quinn back
this is a fine start
japanhead : 1/17/2020 10:42 pm : link

Sometimes guys get lazy. He may cleanup his presentation as he gets more visible as DC. No one wants to sound like an idiot on TV and radio. Least of all a Yale man.
