totally agree...would LOVE Pepper Johnson coaching our DL, he is as pretty darn good coach and is said to be loved by players. also I would love to have him home again...That would be a terrific hire IMO
I dont think so. Probably got cold feet about jumping to the NFL after he got added responsibility. He also didnt hire a staff and then leave team in a bind.
Travis Jones coached for Saban at LSU then followed him to NFL. Has been an assistant on two Super Bowl winning teams. Most recently was Assistant DL Coach for Falcons.
I dont understand why Pepper Johnson hasnt gotten more interest. Is there something in his background that is not generally known? Was he a weak link on a strong Pats defensive staff?

if they don't find a coach they like, Graham can do both jobs as DC and DL coach. In 1989 & 1990, Belichick took over coaching the defensive backs in addition to his duties as defensive coordinator. It's not ideal, but for the senior bowl practices, Graham should know what he's looking at on the DL drills.
