Connor Orr article from SI
“ How Derrick Henry and the Titans Ran Away From the Rest of the NFL”

This is a great read on the origins of the Titans offense.

Apologies for no copy/paste quotes this morning. Trust me, it’s a great read.

When I was at University of Virginia, his son got into a fight with another student at a party over a woman.

No big deal. Except that the punk kid, Richard Smith, was a sore loser and got a bunch of his friends and cruised around looking for the other guy. They found him and attacked him four on one.

But that's not the really punk part.

UVA has an honor code, according to which those accused of violating the code get a trial in front of a jury composed of their peers. When the Honor Committee was to convene, they all received notices from Frederick Smith's lawyers, saying they would be sued if they proceeded with the trial.

My friend was on the committee and wanted to go ahead with it anyway. His reasoning was if you agree to the honor code, then you have to be willing to suffer in defense of honor.

But the weak-willed administration caved and let the punk kid back in. But imagine the CEO of a Fortune 500 company threatening to sue students for doing the right thing? Disgusting. And the administration is disgusting for caving.

And remember Ahmad Bradshaw got thrown out of UVA for violating the honor code with a petty theft.

I was on Honor Committee at UVA and punching someone wouldn't have been handled by Honor - that would've been UJC. Honor is only for Lie/Cheat/Steal.
McNally implemented that while he was here

many years back if memory serves. Works well with Henry. That is one bad dude. So fast, big and has that Brown, Dickerson, Marcus Allen style. Not fair, like Usain Bolt and his size over other sprinters. everything larger and faster.
