I have been suffering as knicks fan for 20 years, and every year I have been kind of ok with it. Thinking they will get a star in lottery or a few times thiught we would sign a big free agent so I didn’t mind the losing. It’s really hitting me hard this year. I have finally realized after 3 major fails that no one is signing here in 2021 and this years collection of college players lacks and superstars. Dallas is way ahead of schedule so next years pick in a really strong top 5 lottery is going to be late teens at best. Dolan still hasn’t fired mills or perry. Mills and perry continue to be asleep at the wheel. Why wouldn’t the knicks make the trade rhat Portland just made with Sacramento. It’s only 2 2nd rounders, but still we keep sitting out in these no brainer traders ri collect assets and take on bad contracts. If knicks has a competent GM, there is no doubt after the trade deadline that portis, Morris, Bullock, Randle and Smith jr would all be traded and the knocks would have 2 lottery protected 1sts and a few other 2nds. I’m feeling pretty hopeless, too. At this point, Knicks games are just something to watch on TV. I’m not into hockey or college basketball, so I’m stuck with this garbage. Feels like every team in the NBA except us has a competitive team or a team with some legit young pieces. RJ will work his ass off and grind out 18-20 points per game - beyond that the cupboard is empty.

Barrett's fine, but his limitations will prevent him from being a #1 or a #2 player on a good team.
Of course the Knicks wind up with the 3rd pick in a draft where if they got the #2 pick they would have had the best player in the draft.
Zion is exciting, but Morant will have a better, and longer career. I see no reason for any type of hope with the Knicks.
