Now Judge wants a physical team “that will punch you in the nose for 60 minutes”.
It’s time for us to make all our personnel decisions with that in mind. We haven’t had that type of team since the Parcells era. So, no talk of Simmons, since he is more AA than an LT in terms of strength and power. No more drafting WRs #1 until we have the OL to knock people on their asses.
DG at least has that inclination with his selections of Hernandez and Lawrence. I’m hoping that he directs all our energy to landing a physical OL and a defense that is consistently in the QB’s face.
No more pretty players. Time for a team of beasts, “crazed dogs” or whatever LT said.
He got that from Woody Hayes.
Some bullshit about “if you gotta swim in the Atlantic, you have to train in the Atlantic!l

but when you mentioned Parcells, what popped into my head was his preference for Big 10 players because they would be able to handle the wind and cold during November and December.

Lol, and “if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!“ - Patches O’Houlihan
Then BPA based of value rest of the draft we need talent upgrades everywhere. *almost completely ignoring position*

He may be the real deal. He may not. Proof is in the pudding.

Agreed. While I like what I am hearing so far, I need to see them win some games. It’s been a rough several years now. My biggest concern is the defense. I hope Graham is the real deal. It’s hard watching a team with such a great defensive tradition play so poorly on that side of the ball.

give it a rest, these players have thermal gear now. Most skiers stand in temps below 10 degrees and are fine.

I’m not even kidding. It’s in Parcells book that came out a few years ago.
Mark Collins has stated that he didn’t think Parcells like him because George Young drafted him (and apparently overruled Parcells) and because he went to school in California and thought he was soft.

He didn't have ENOUGH inclination to adress theOLINe.
First off most of us realize that Solder was a blunder. Every time anyone mentions "we had to get him" - when you ask them then what was DG's then if he got his priority instead of Norwell?
What you get in response is "silence." That's because it just isn't true that they had to sign Solder. You never need to be deliberately stupid when you are in a rebuild.
When you add this blunder with lousy FA signings of Omameh, and Stewart along with wasting more money in trade with getting the lousy Ogletree - it was an incredible waste of money. Then add that with the signing of Tate this year instead of going after someone liek Morse -- it just shows DG was just incompetent so far addressing the OLINE.
Answer this question-- long-term where does guys like Solder, Omamheh, Stewart and Tate fit into a rebuild? For this-- along not blowing so much on Ogeltree you could have been in a strong position to get THREE young OLINEMEN just on these moves alone.

Regarding trading for Solder instead of saying --

I meant to say what if he got Norwell instead-- which was his 1st priority. Then what was his plan to get a LT if had paid so much to get Norwell?
