Who do position coaches work for?

TC : 1/19/2020 12:47 pm
Obviously, there can be several answers depending upon the intent of the question; team, HC, or Coordinator. And I suspect it can vary by team dependent on several factors. I’m also sure each position coach interacts with multiple individuals within the coaching structure. But what I’m getting at is, who is regularly interacting with them concerning doing their job? Does the HC say directly to a position coach, I want this or that, or does he depend upon coordinators to do it?
We don't know the exact mechanism

If I had to guess I would say the coordinators were their direct superior.

The head coach would intervene as needed but in good organizations, he would not undermine the coordinator.

The word we would hear is "collaborative".

reports directly to Mara, Tisch, and God himself.
Who hired them?

With the Giants it has always been the head coach. As long as I can remember. So, on your job, who do you feel you work for and must please the most? The person who hired you right?

An even smarter coach will make all of his head coach, his coordinator, and the team owner happy, but even if you keep two out of those three happy, if the head coach is not happy, you are getting fired....

head coach.

position coaches coach their position players during indy periods. when they come together to do team coordinators work the period. position guys watch their players assignments and ensure they are doing them.

ALL report to the head coach

The Head Coach

It is always the Head Coach. But OC can often get a lot of say and input. The buck stops with the HC

Is the boss
But in our case since Judge has never been a HC the position coaches will prob report more to the DC who will then report to the HC.
