I certainly hope they don’t make the mistake of holding onto assets at the deadline in a misguided attempt to “make a run”. I trust JD and Gorton to do right but you never know
a tie game in the last 2 mins.
No fucking points...no fucking playoffs...
It's so nice that they have an Offensive Defense...but the Defensive Defense Sucks!!!

#leafs have increased their offer for Georgiev, deal is Kapanen and a second round pick for Georgiev.
It's inconvenient to have three, but I want to keep Georgiev, who has a real future as GK while Kapanen looks like he may have a limited upside.
I hope Rangers agree to that deal. Kapanen is Only a 40 point guy, about 15 goals on average. In my opinion, no big deal if we lose him. Also, No big deal to lose a 2nd pick too; better than losing a 1st. I’m sure my boys are hoping Rangers braintrust are not very bright and will feel the need to unload Georgiev seeing they believe the other kid is better and they can’t get rid of Hanks contract.
I believe Georgiev would be our starting goalie and beat out Anderson. Plus he is only 23. Anderson has one more year on his contract so we probably don’t resign him seeing we have a better goalie in Georgiev.

That's exactly why I'd rather the Rangers pass this deal up. Hope they are reading your comment!
with the play of Trouba and Skeji. A lot of money invested in those two and they're being trusted with first line minutes and the level of play simply has not been good enough. The two of them are playing so slow and indecisive. They leave an enormous gap on both goals last night and possibly screen the goalie each time.
Hopefully Trouba is playing hurt because I can't really explain his drop in play otherwise. Looks slow
They have to decide are they going to be a Now Team and make a Playoff run , or still playing for a year or two down the road.
Henriks contract is killing them , and with his no trade clause they are stuck with him for next year (Don't get me wrong the Guy has been a great Ranger but Team is moving towards younger players)
Trouba , Strome and Bucnevich annoy the hell out of me with the inconsistent play and screwups.
I love Kakko but he is such a non factor at the moment.
agree, their drops invite crashing to the net with close-in shots; first goal, Trouba's crouch to block was a good screen, possibly the second goal as well, three bodies kaleidoscoping in the slot. Bjorkstrand went up high on Igor twice, maybe that's where his shot is most deadly, but wondering if after a bit of film teams think he is not as quick with the glove going high. Way too early to give credence, just a thought. He made some terrific saves, including to poke check the puck away from ? after Zib gave it up in front.
Poster above carped at Trouba, Strome, and Buch. I'd add Td'A: everyone loves him because he's such a threat in the attacking end. But way too often, as he stickhandles out of and begins to build up head of steam from his own end, he forgets he's a d-man and coughs the puck up with aimless passes into the neutral zone.
How many games has Henrik played in the team's past ten, two? It has to eat at him, and I wonder if there's a not bit of subtle pressure being brought to bear. He's too proud, and too revered, for that to work. Situation sucks all around.
Thursday (?) night game at Nassau Coliseum, I believe Rangers on the PP, and the scramble in front of the net at which it looked like the puck had crossed the line, but Rangers kept the puck inside Islanders end for a full 72 seconds, from 7:14 to 6:02 to play in the 2nd; finally, Islanders were able to clear, and at that point the ref blew the whistle to review the scramble. Red came to center ice and announced, "At 7:14, it was determined that the puck entirely crossed the goal line" and he points to the center circle. Zib was credited. It just felt weird, play going on and on, then it's whistled dead, and that 72 seconds is put back on the clock.
It was the right thing to do, of course, to let Rangers' attack persist, in the event the review determined no goal. Similar to the game toward end of NFL season when an early whistle killed a fumble return for a score, iirc.
