Well Congrats to the Chiefs and 49ers for making it to the Super Bowl, but our season has been over for a long time, so let's look at some draft stock for 2020.
I don't think many casual college fans will recognize the majority of these names, and that is on purpose. I wanted to start a list of names who I think can be huge values, and good players at the next level.
This is designed just to start discussion (frankly, I love draft time), and get BBI talking about our potential new players come April.
I have attached the Draft Network write up for each player, I think they do a pretty nice job, and it'll make for a much smaller post haha (Even though this is going to be long and take alot of time haha)
Mekhi Becton OT L'ville, 6'7 365lbs
The 1st player is one that I think some (including me) have mentioned on BBI. I will say, that to pick this player at #4 would be stretch...but he is going to knock everyone's socks off at the combine and have folks running to check his tape...and that is what I think can push him into the top 10. He is an absolute beast of a man, and will be a dominant RT (Worst case scenerio!) but I really think he will be the best LT to come out of the 2020 draft when it is all said and done. I watch some clips and can't understand how a man that HUGE can move so well...it's weirdly freaky...and he doesn't carry bad weight...he is an athlete inside a Giants body haha. I can see him being a very fast riser this spring, and might be a great pick if we trade down from #4
Mekhi Becton
Lloyd Cushenberry III OC, LSU 6'4 315lbs
I know many of us have the dream of Mr.Tyler Biadasz wearing blue for the next decade, but I just don't see him being there in Rd2 for us, and obviously without a trade down, #4 is too high for him. So, sorry to wreck the wet dream....BUT, I think Lloyd Cushenberry III can be a very nice consolation prize. He is ranked at CBSSPORTS (I try to use the same list every year, and they are pretty decent for a free site) the overall #69 ranked prospect. He is not far off, talentwise, from the top Centers in the draft but can be had for a much better value. Daniel Jones would absolutely love this pick...haha..no more Pio Pushback...
Lloyd CushenBerry III
Darrell Taylor EDGE, Tennessee 6'4 255lbs
Tennessee Football has fallen on hard times, but they still crank out NFL athletes every year. Taylor isn't known to the average fan, and like Alvin Kamara, I think he will be a much better pro player in the right situation. If you look up freak athlete in the dictionary, his picture is there. He has all the measurables and physical tools to be an absolute terror off the edge. Plus he plays the run solid and usually sets a nice edge. He is ranked at #84 right now, but read the article attached...I think he would be gold for us in round 2, and this kid WILL make an immediate impact.
Darrell Taylor
Reggie Floyd FS, Virgina Tech 6'0 222lbs
I give you a versatile safety, who can play at LOS or in the deep coverage aspects of the field. This kid can do it all, and will look really nice for us in the back end...he is the anti-Bethea. Terrific overall athlete, and he uses all his God given gifts to make an impact on the football field. We need to have more versatility at Safety, and he would combine with Love and Peppers to create a really nice 3 headed monster.
Reggie Floyd
Reggie Floyd #2
Denzel Mims WR, Baylor 6'3 215lbs
Mims isn't going to sneak up on talent evaluators for the 2020 draft...he is a KNOWN quantity but unfortunantely for him, this draft is absolutely loaded at WR. But that is music to my ears, because this kid will be a star in the NFL. He is fast as shit (track star) has all the size/measurements of a #1 Wideout, and this dude catches everything. Please make him a Giant...I've been a fan of his for sometime, and can only hope he joins our team.

Denzel Mims #2
Kyle Duggar S, Lenoir-Rhyne 6'2 220lbs
Typical small school talent. He dominated his level of comp and is a buzzy name heading into the 2020 draft. He has the size, speed and AA to play in the NFL. He is a later round kinda guy, and may need some time to adjust to the NFL, but he can be a really good ST player while we see how his skillset develops. Versatile and a punch 'em in the mouth kinda player, and I think that's exactly who our new coach is going to be looking for. Nice sleeper pick here.

Kyle Duggar Highlights
Levonta Taylor CB, Florida St. 5'11 195lbs
Highly recruited player in 2015 (5 star), and he has been an "eraser" for FSU. He is very good in man to man, and played alot of slot for FSU. People just don't complete many passes on him...His assignments rarely make it open, so the ball is never thrown his way. Not only does Levonta Taylor lead the nation with his low 14.3 passer rating when targeted - he also averages 40.9 snaps in coverage per reception allowed - the highest mark among all FBS cornerbacks. But he is not a highly ranked draft prospect...why? Well he is not prototypical with size or measurables, plus he only has 4 int in 4 years...but is it because QB's wouldn't throw his way or? Honestly it doesn't make sense to me, but I think this kid will be a valuable slot corner and can contribute early on. If his value stays low, someone is getting a hell of a deal. Why not us? :)
Levonta Taylor
Calvin Throckmorton OL, Oregon 6'5 315lbs
The thing that has me sniffing around this prospect is how versatile he is. He has played all positions on the line for Oregon, and I think he can be a solid RT in the NFL, with the versatility to play anywhere in a pinch. Many are projecting he will be a Guard in the league, which may end up being true. He can be had in the middle to backhalf of the draft, so I see him as a valuable back up worst case... but has the pedigree to be a starter in the NFL, IMO.
Calvin Throckmorton
Calvin Throckmorton #2
I have more players, but I'll save those for another post, this takes too long haha..
Dantzler a cb that’s hopefully slips mid round
Any thoughts on
Matt Hennessy the temple center
Malik Harrison osu mlb

I'm not too familiar with Hennessy... I'll look him up!
Malik Harrison is one tough SOB. My only worry with him is he seems like a run stuffing MIKE with limited coverage ability. He is a tone setter on defense, but I think a better 4-3 player. But you always want players like him on your team. He really has improved this past year or so...
In terms of a third round WR id take Tyrell Johnson Minnesota
But I like Mims a lot
Troy Dye. OLB Oregon will rise up the boards
Nice writeup
Listed as SS or S.lb hybrid .
Look for the true free safety .
Not saying he's not a useful player in the NFL
He is a special athlete. He is similar to Byron Jones and can play all over the field.
He may be raw, but, he will be a great special team player right away.
He can play all over the field and offers enormous scheme flexibility.
Simmons and Duggar would change the Giants defense.
Coming around on Becton. He looks like a beast that has freakishly good feet at that size.

great point! I am laughing my ass off, because I was literally just reading this post about him...
Isaiah Wilson - ( New Window )
Quote:
is Isaiah Wilson, the big RT for Georgia. Really physical run blocker and more than adequate in pass pro from what I've seen. Link - ( New Window )
Can you imagine Mekhi Becton and Isaiah Wilson as your bookend Tackles? Both are 6'7 and a combined 700+lbs of destruction haha...I could easily get on board, because Becton is a freak to be so athletic at his size and Wilson is a good athlete too, and has loooong arms. This is where a trade down can really impact our future. Trade back to get Becton, and then use whatever capital to secure good players like Wilson, as well.
