Not sure its an underrated win

Great video but certainly getting that Cowboys monkey off our back was huge on the road the 42.
Was that..
FatMan in Charlotte : 1/20/2020 12:52 pm : link
the game where Jerruh had already bought the plane tickets for the following week?

That's not underrated - it's magical!

I'm pretty sure it was.

Eli led a drive just before halftime that was a beaut, IIRC.
lol, underrated?

That is an epic, unforgettable afternoon in Giants history. I assumed you were going to say Tampa Bay, since we literally had negative yards in the first quarter and got our shit together for an historic run.
I'm pretty sure that Cowboy team was the one with 13 pro-bowlers

. I was just a kid and couldn't stand them. They swept us in the regular season as well. That game made me so happy. They were so pissed. Lol. Processing that Superbowl victory is something I'm still trying to grasp.

My 48th birthday, no better gift have I ever received.
The underrated win was the Tampa win

They needed that win to get Eli and TC their first Giants playoff wins and ended up being down 7-0. Then they turned it up a notch and you got the formula that got them the Super Bowl. Pound the ball, timely passing , devastating pass rush.
I'm one of those guys who has an equally favorite MLB, NCAAB, NCAAF,

soccer club.

This game is my favorite of all time regardless of sport or team. Given the fact I was 10, this game takes on mythical meaning. I still remember lying on the floor nervously waiting for Bahr to kick and running around the house in celebration to the disappointment of my 49er fan brother.

For me, it was the final chapter of an epic decade long rivalry that featured stark contrast in styles, generational coaching talent, plenty of 80s star talent to go with a mutual hatred yet respect of the other.
considering that

I literally hugged my flat screen TV and all but dry humped it the second the last pass was picked off by NYG, I don't think I underrated it.

Plus, the guy who said Eli could be "had," got "had" himself by Eli on the TD pass to Toomer in the 4th Quarter.

Not by a long shot. One of the great wins in Giant lore.
Pierce calling it "Jerry's World"

That wasn't the new stadium. I swear that term was coined on BBI.
Who remembers Strahan in the postgame saying

So I hope T.O. has his popcorn ready and maybe he and Crayton can sit in his home theater and watch us next week.

I remember there was a pretty big sentiment

on BBI that the rest of the playoffs was gravy after beating Dallas.

Yes. Because in TC's post game speech, he says something to the affect of "Just so you know, Jerry just sent over the plane tickets". And the team goes ape shit.
Great memories

Someone mentioned this on a previous post, and it is too true, how far away today are we from being as talented as that team. A long ways away.

Also, I'd like to see a list of free agent signees from that team.
It was the scoring drive right before the half

that first made me believe that we could actually win it all.

How good was that DL? How was good were they??

The Giants had a depleted secondary in that game and still managed to beat the best and a very talented team in the NFC!

Mindset... It was not about the best players on the field that post season. It was "who was the best team?"

Unforgettable experience that the team you love and follow epitomized what a best team is!

There may never be one like them....

Then it f'in happened again in 2011!!!

How more lucky can any fan be?
Jacobs slamming the ball on the wall was awesome but....

nothing was better than seeing Romo(at the time, the fine wine of the NFL)throwing an INT to end the game.

It was magical.

The dessert was seeing Jerry looking like he just shit his pants on the sidelines. At that point, i was soo buzzed i remember giving Jerry the finger.

what a win. those were the days
