Hearing a lot of buzz about Tampa as a possible landing spot for Philip Rivers. As reported back in late November, he and the Chargers were likely headed to a parting of the ways |
Wouldn’t really change a ton, understanding that the Chargers would be looking to draft a QB, but this would really accelerate the situation.
I’m concerned the Lions are going to be the team to deal down and not the Giants
The only people he was reaching at the end of the year was Eckler out of the backfield or his WR's running drags about 4 yards down field.

Eli has a better arm than Rivers....

Have always liked Rivers and defended him.
But you are spot on. He’s hit the wall. And there is a very real physical deterioration. Tampa would be dumb to try Rivers as their QB solution.
Also sounds like since he is moving his family regardless this is basically his retirment plan. He may not need to be a locked in starter. Just give him a nice cozy back up job where he knows he will get a shot to play.
its means we gauranteed one of
young
okudah
simmons
or a OT of our choice.
seems solid to me
Just like d Jones May have been a top 15 talent but we grabbed him at 6 cause we didn’t want to chance it at 17 ( seems like for good reason too)
Can see us trading down a few spots. Maybe 6-9
Still getting a top 2 OT and maybe an xtra 2 and 4th
Would be much needed. We need around 5 core players from draft and hopefully 2-3 from FA. Might not fill the 8-10 needs we have in 2020 but sure hoping 5-6 of them
Not if you are in the ‘trade down’ camp and want the team to have as much leverage as possible. I’m on record of my opinion on trading down and how DG plays into that. No need to rehash.
Brady to Bolts.
Eli to Evil Empire.
That's a win for the Giants as one of the 3 stud players drop to Giants!

Again, not if your are holding out hope that we pick up some draft capital. If the Lions are willing to deal down, that hurts the Giants stance on value of the 4 slot
He had a bizarre season. He passed for an incredible 5,109 yards ... but 33/30 TD/Int ratio is just crazy. I guess you move on, but that's a *lot* of yards to move on from.

No way QBs go 1,3,4. I don’t know if that has ever happened.

qb needy teams will overdraft

Although it would be unusual, it wouldn’t be crazy. Again, with as many teams in the top 4 who don’t need QB’s, compared to how many teams 5-9, who do, I could see some movement for signal callers. Normally, the teams needing a QB aren’t within such striking distance.
I’m hoping for
1 - Bengals Joe Burrow
2 - Redskins Isaiah Simmons
3 - Miami Tua (Insert last name)
4 - Giants Chase Young
