wouldn’t they want to lock him up? Could be salary cap reasons but it seems odd they wouldn’t want him back. Maybe they are just letting him test and then see if they want to match/ go above any good offers he gets ...
have Frank Ragnow at C who they took in the first two years ago. Glasgow is really a G who they tried at C and upgraded then and slid Glasgow to G and backup at C.
he’s done with the Giants. Although I didn’t hear whether he was operated on or where he is. Achilles rupture is a big injury if Pio in fact has that and then the Giants need a center, regardless of what they think of his skills.
RE: didn’t Halapio tear his Achilles in the last game? If so I would think Â

He did. Already had surgery. DG said in a presser that time timeline has him back for training camp. He also said he was comfortable with the inside 3. Pio being part of that, which is where the concern is coming from.
Could be GM speak, as to not tip his hand going into FA and the draft.
27 year old Patriots guard Joe Thuney for center. Thuney has played just guard for the Patriots but he is very smart. Thuney played center in college although he spent most of his time at tackle and guard.
He’s a very solid guard so he won’t be cheap but he could be a big upgrade for the Giants at center. Obviously Judge is familiar with him.
Pio tore his Achilles. It is very unlikely he will not be ready to play when the season starts and even if he somehow is, you can't just plan on that, so they have to plan on someone else starting. Achilles ruptures can take up to a year to return to athletic competition.
And finally, Jon Halapio is a restricted free agent. He doesn't even have a contract to play with anybody in 2020.
Sign Conklin if we are priced out resign remmers who was serviceable. draft a center. A different offense and different play caller can make this line look a lot better. Moving from the zone blocking scheme can help a guy like Hernandez thrive. For center I like Dave Tes guy, Hennessy, from temple later in the draft Round 4 or so

Didn't the Pats OL suck this season? Or do I have that wrong? Plus anyone from their OL that is coming over and not bringing the OL coach with them worries me.
Why not? We have two premium picks and 80 mil in cap space
Insert Adam Gates in at RG
Sign Jack Conklin
Retain Solder
Draft OT in first 2 rounds to groom
2020 OLine
Solder - Hernandez - Zeitler - Gates - Conklin
With the rookie as swing tackle, ready to hopefully take over for Solder in 2021

Gettleman is giving an overly optimistic timeline for the recovery.
Solder
Hernandez
Draft pick
Zeitler
Conklin
Right. We can't fix all of them but we can fix the OL if we prioritize it. This would be a good start.
