NFT: Mattress Question

UConn4523 : 1/21/2020 10:19 am
In the market for a new mattress and don't have the time (or desire) to go to stores to test them out so I may pull the trigger on an online purchase. I bought a bed for my daughter on amazon (I forgot the brand) and its incredibly comfortable - she's 30 lbs so it should last a while for her but I have no idea how they hold up for adults over time.

In any case I'm looking for something on the firmer side that doesn't sink.

Secondary question - has anyone from the online places every returned a mattress for not being satisfied? I keep seeing the 365 day guarantee and don't really know how legit that is.
I know you stated you were going to try online but

Got a free King Size Matress from Simmons this year...

...my wife and I were both losing sleep with nasty backaches from a mattress past it's prime. We actually had selected a $4,000 mattress at a store, and when we moved the old one to clean under it in prep for delivery, noticed it still had the tags on it. 10 YEAR WARRANTY. And the date on it was 9 years old.

Stopped the order on the new bed, researched how to submit a claim and since there were no longer local Simmons dealers, took pictures of the very lumpy pillowtop and Simmons ACCEPTED THE CLAIM.

They shipped us a new King Beautyrest. Saved me 4 grand.

I did a happy dance over that one.
All that said, DON'T BUY SIMMONS.

I don't think I'd even advise pillowtops. They don't - they can't last.
Nectar

The wife and I had been sleeping on the same mattress for almost 10 years. About a week ago she suggested ordering a bed from Nectar, which came with a frame & headboard. I was weary without testing it or knowing more about it.

I've only slept on it for 4 nights, but so far it seems legit. It's similar to memory foam. Came packaged in plastic, and grew to its king size once we opened it. I like soft beds, and this one is pretty firm. So far, I'm still a fan.

Affordable as well. Hope this helps.

I got a Puffy mattress

And it delivered free, slowly grew to it's intended size and it's easily the best bed I've ever slept on, and I have woken up on MANY floors. The pillows are a bit too bulky, but the mattress itself is outstanding, it doesn't mush down, it retains its shape and contours well.

Dreamcloud King last year and love it. Very comfortable. Was pretty cool to open it up and see it inflate, too.
Go with Tuft & Needle Mint
Metnut : 1/21/2020 1:36 pm : link
we got ours a year ago and it's great. Sleeps cool and is just firm enough. Be careful when looking at mattress review sites. The majority of them are paid for by a mattress company and obviously conflicted.
I second Tuft & Needle

We ordered one for my son a couple of years ago. It is easily my favorite mattress in the house. It got to full thickness in about an hour and has been so comfortable ever since.

+1. Just read the Consumer Reports on mattresses, and Tuft and Needle was one of the two best -- and it was much cheaper than the other top brand.
Thanks for all the replies
