Don't assume he really needs help. Maybe he is just an entitled brat whom Mike Tomlin enabled and never told NO to. He has trouble accepting authority and responsibility. Lets not assume head trauma just because he is a football player.
Look back to his past, even in High School. He may have mental illness, but these claims of CTE would indicate that it existed way back then, because he's acted erratic for years. Well before the NFL or college

Its the cool thing to say now. I find it to be pretty annoying to be honest. Theres one thing to give your opinion on a torn ACL, its a common injury that people have had done and have experience with. Its another thing to chalk everything up to brain trauma, something no one on this site is qualified to talk about.
Dudes never been the same since the Burfuct hit - drives me nuts. He was an asshole well before that.
I totally agree. In fact, I took a lot of heat months ago, while he was on the Raiders, that the signs were there he was not well. Unless someone who cares steps in, these pathologies end up involving the police in one way or another.

What. You cant diagnose someone from a phone. Get w it. Cant possibly be drug or PED abuse. Cant be the guy is an asshole. Cant be 100 things. Serious neurological diagnosis should always be done but looking at no medical tests

It may be a little annoying to be so specific in a diagnosis (eg CTE) but it is more annoying to deny the obvious needs for intervention, which many people do.
be we dont know what for. Could be an alcoholic, could be a coke head, could be food rage, could be anything.
Im the first person to destroy the NFL to turning a blind eye to CTE and concussion research in the past, but Im not about to claim CTE anytime some jerk does something stupid.
Absolutely true. The armchair, know nothing psychologists or brain experts here on BBI saying, definitively, that its some sort of mental illness or CTE is fucking hilarious.
but, a lot of kids take brutal head blows from the time they first play contact sports. Just because he was a nut job from way back doesn't absolve head trauma as the cause.
Saw a show once that covered the body abuse a lot of kids take from an early age in the quest to stand out in high school to get recruited for college and then to the pros. It can be pretty horrific.
Odds are he's just a nut job from birth, but if there is anything to CTE, it isn't limited to college and beyond.

They dont know a fucking thing.
And neither do you.
All I know is I've known plenty of douchebags, assholes, jackasses, and dickheads in my life. I don't think I've ever seen a guy as blatantly and consistently self-destructive as AB. A lot of times guys can be selfish assholes, but you can often at least see how their behavior may be somewhat rational from their self-serving point of view. Maybe they don't treat people with dignity or respect, and they take actions that are self-serving at the expense of others. This guy, AB, seems to do nothing anymore that serves himself in any way. He's lost millions of dollars, blown opportunity after opportunity (sometimes more than one major opportunity in a single week), and he's possibly ruined his chances of ever playing the game he supposedly loves or even making anywhere close to what he was once making financially.
I personally don't have a strong view one way or another on Colin Kaepernick, but a lot of people don't like him and think he's "blown his opportunity at playing in the NFL ever again." Well what I will say is that the guy at least thinks he's standing up against social injustice and he has a large following of people who like him, and he's also made a ton of profit off of what he's done even if he's not playing football. Some people might think Kaepernick is a self-centered douchebag, others might think he's social pioneer, or a genius of sorts, I don't know. Antonio Brown, meanwhile, has done only the worst possible things for himself, and alienated himself from pretty much every person in the country. Nobody likes him, everyone thinks he's insane, he's reportedly lost a ton of personal friends and contacts, and he is slowly diminishing in net worth with possibly no hopes of making his money back.
You can call it "just being an asshole" all you want and point to the fact that he's "been an ass" going all the way back to his college days,. But all I know is any human who acts this way is abnormal mentally somehow and, plain and simply, not well. I understand we always need to account for free will and personal accountability etc., but this guy has done so many things, especially recently, that I simply can't wrap my head around and consider to be anything other than insane behavior. You don't need to be a clinical psychologist to know when a person clearly needs help in some way because his life is literally falling apart around him. Is he going to seek that help or even admit that there's anything wrong with him? Maybe/probably not. But that doesn't change the fact that he's clearly gone off the reservation into territory beyond just being "an ass."
I'll use a very simplified example: OBJ is an example of what seems to me like an attention-seeking, spoiled, "me-first" brat. The difference between OBJ and Antonio Brown is OBJ dies the tips of his hair blonde, Antonio Brown dies his facial hair blonde. Which one of those sounds like a guy just being a typical appearance-conscious diva athlete who's a little vain, and which sounds like a guy who just might have something wrong with him mentally?
I've never seen anyone as blatantly and consistently self-destructive as AB, who didn't turn out to have some other deeper mental/emotional issue or problem underlying their seemingly inexplicable behavior.
Admittedly, none of us really know what we're talking about, and I would include psychological professionals who might weigh in without even knowing AB personally. We're all just guessing. But I don't think you necessarily need to have a degree in psychiatry to look at someone and say "yeah, there's something not all there with this chap." I mean, do you need a PhD to know the homeless guy jerking off on the side of the ride has a mental illness?
Antonio Browns trainer Glen Holt was arrested for felony burgulary & battery this afternoon. The moving truck driver said he was battered by Holt & Antonio Brown. Officers tried to contact Brown but were unsuccessful. Its an ongoing investigation.

Yeah. You just posted a bunch about of nothing for naught. Youre not a doctor. You literally know nothing about nothing when it comes to mental health or CTE.
Is obviously mentally deranged. He thinks he can diagnose a human being just by reading the news and hearing things about a person.
See how that works?
Stop with the bullshit psychology you obviously have no business in diagnosing.
But hes never seen anyone like this. Isnt that enough for you. I mean he should submit his posts to for publication in a peer reviewed journal In sure his rigorous methodology will impress them.

Where did I diagnose him? All I said was, from where I'm standing, it seems there's something not right with this guy mentally. No specific diagnosis. I also said nothing about CTE.
I even qualified everything I said with this statement:
"Admittedly, none of us really know what we're talking about, and I would include psychological professionals who might weigh in without even knowing AB personally. We're all just guessing."
Also, I do have a Bachelor's in Psychology (it was my major), and I'm only mentioning that to make a point that it's rather presumptuous of you to go around assuming that everyone "knows nothing" simply because they aren't a doctor. But for this discussion Im not even drawing from that slim body of knowledge. You are correct: I'm not a doctor, nor a licensed medical professional of any sort, I'm an actuary, and it's not my place to diagnose anyone because that's not my profession. Thats why Im not diagnosing anyone. I'm making a laymen's observation that "this guy doesn't seem like he's all there." I'll return to the other point I made: you don't need a degree to presume that the homeless guy screaming at you on the street probably isn't all there. Is it my place to diagnose what specifically is wrong with the guy? Hell no, because I'm not a doctor.
If someone says that a guy could possibly have mental issues and should seek help, I dont understand the notion of dismissing that as bullshit psychology simply because the person isnt a doctor. Especially when making an absolute statement so confidently that someone is NOT mentally ill, and "just an ass," is an assessment unto itself, and I could say just as well say to that person: you don't know that you're not a doctor. That's literally the only point I was making.
Has officially beat out Idiotsavant, as the master of what the fuck are you talking about. Do us all a favor and read a book, preferably something that differs from what one may find at a check-out line.
I got through two paragraphs before so realized it was
It's true, I'll admit that I type incredibly fast and I'm a fairly wordy person in general, so I accept that not every person is going read my posts. I also happened to have thought a lot about this particular topic recently and was discussing it with some friends. If for you it's TL;DR, then DR, simple as that.
And just because my post was long does not mean I was trying to make some ground-breaking scholarly point. My bottom line was pretty basic: (1) to me, a laymen observer, something seems seriously off about AB beyond just being a typical prick. And (2) none of us are in a position to say what that something is, but also not in a position to definitively give him a clean bill of mental health. That's all.
Personal attacks, implying that I don't read (?), suggesting I be banned... I don't see why or how any of those things were called for.
Damn has some screws loose and some bad people
around him hopefully he gets some help or something tragic is
gonna happen NFLPA should have a support group to get

Yep.
