This is a good hire. Bielema’s name had been floated early as possible DC, so to bring him aboard as a potential position coach is a get.

Bielema was on a buyout from Arkansas when he was HC and they just stopped paying it because they found that Bielema was not looking for a paying job.

There will be some speculation here and detective work as its New England and they arent forthcoming or that rule abiding

It appeArs that Bielema was a "consultant" last year for NE and was unpaid. This year he is not listed on any official New England staff including their website. I can only find written pieces from reporters referring to him as DL coach but nothing official and the info traves back to Bielema "telling" people he was promoted to DL coach

NE was paying him just 50K this year and Arkansas caught wind and cut him off as a violation of their buyout.

This is likely why Bielema has been linked to some jobs this offseason like Giants & Lions. NE may not have been willing to pay him more

Sounds like he’ll work with the outside linebackers. Also sounds like there will be an additional title in there.

would had to have given permission for the interview. Something he doesn't do lightly. Unless, of course, his year to year contract was up and he chose to not reupp? I'm curious about the back-story on that.

His coaching bio is on the Patriots website.

Bielema is listed as staff ln their site. When I originally looked when it was first reported that Bielema was in mix for Giants DC, he wasnt listed

If he's being limited to OLB's, that's a good thing.

multiple methods to reach players I hope we have OLB that learn from presentations because he might have a heart attack demonstrating anything on the field.
