And after watching DC for a while with Jay Gruden you would actually think he is better than Garrett?
Yeah, I do. I wouldn't trust Kirk Cousins to screw in a lightbulb, but look at his numbers in 3 seasons under Gruden. 3 of the 5 highest scoring seasons of the Andy Dalton era in CIN occurred while Gruden was the OC. I don't dislike the Garrett hiring (and I certainly think Judge is entitled to pick whomever he wants), but I think Gruden is a better offensive coach.
I would have liked to have heard that Gruden at least interviewed for Â

Kirk Cousins is a better QB than you want to acknowledge - quite obviously he took the Vikings into the playoffs. He is not a "franchise" QB, but he is second tier. Andy Dalton is a similar QB in that he is good enough to take a team to the playoffs, but not good enough to beat the upper tier QBs.
I am far more comfortable with Garrett as OC than Gruden although I'd bet that Garrett is gone to be a HC elsewhere before Gruden, so the Giants will lose Garrett after two seasons is my guess. I don't see Gruden being a HC anytime soon.
I'm not saying anything against Gruden, I just think Garrett is better.
Gruden dealt with a lot more adversity than Garrett, in the past few Â
Years. I thought the Washington offense and Dallas offense were similar but Dallas had more talent to work with. I would have been happy with either running the offense that I think the Giants will play.
RE: I wonder if Judge (or the the hierarchy) ever considered Â
There is a clear link between Judge and his coaches, he was probably not a top candidate for this staff
Which hierarchy are you talking about...?

This. Also it's been rumored that not all the dysfunction in Washington was due to Snyder and Allen.
