Quick question for those that dumped their PSLs recently. How did you go about it? Did you just decide to walk away from the paid PSL amount? Did you notify the Giants?
Do you regret it? Do you miss it?
Have two kids, ages 7 and 4 and a third one on the way. Blocking 8 weekends during the season is just way too much of a commitment at this point.
any advice would be helpful.
Agree 100%. This was as close to fraud as it gets. Financed the suites for the Maras and Johnson families. Completely ridiculous that they’re gettin away with this.
It’s such a bad stadium. Such a train wreck of epic proportions.
The Giants have a website that you can sell them on. It is basically like an Ebay. List them at a level and if someone is interested can contact you and bid a different level. You can negotiate back and forth through site and if you agree on price the website takes care of the legal paperwork transfer for a fee.
There are other sites that do the same thing. The Giants say that legally you can not use them. You can only use the site they point you to. I think this is because they are probably the buyer picking up PSL's cheap and then reselling them. I didn't want the hassel of finding out another site transferring my title wasn't valid but honestly, I don't see why not. To me I own the PSL. Where I sell/transfer is the same as a timeshare.
Haven't looked back. I enjoy my 3 hours watching the game with cheap beer, own bathroom and no hassel trying to dump tickets every year below face because they are eliminated by week 6.
I bought these PSLs 5 years ago in the secondary market for a 50% discount. Still waste of $7,500!!

This is the site

I actually just purchased a PSL on the 30 yard line upper deck for $200 per PSL. I feel bad for the people who are taking a hit on them but unfortunately the prices are so low so they have to compete with it.

As much as everything had the disclaimer that this wasn't an investment and there was no guarantee they'd maintain or appreciate in value, the sales team was very quick to point out how well PSLs had appreciated in Chicago and how they'd be worth multiples years later.
Their approach took what was a maybe to that point and turned it into a no pretty quickly.

I believe upper deck tickets had $1000 PSLs, if so that person "lost" $800 on the PSL, but had tickets for 101 games. That works out to be about $8 fee per game on top of the ticket price to ensure they got first dibs for every ticket. Not really that bad of deal.

Good point.
What did we get but a shit product and a god awful stadium. I am resigned to the financial hit. I will keep my tickets and pass them on to my sons and grandchildren if they even want them. Let's hope there are better seasons ahead.

First dibs usually means you have the option to pass. That isn’t really true with PSLs
Right now we are all taking a loss with all the losing, but if they can turn things around you could make a profit. Also PSL values will rise if they become contenders for years to come.
Buying high and selling low (or giving them up for nothing)is not a good idea.
Tickets are so easy to get, even when they are good.

I bought to the only playoff game held in that stadium off Ticketmaster for about 10% over face value. Long before the team's current state.
I think the selling point of the PSLs hinged on how tough it was to get tickets in the waitlist era that also predated secondary markets online. I used to buy season tickets from a ticket holder and pay a hefty markup for the entire season, and ended up eating the preseason tickets and having to sell off others. Now, it's easy enough to pick and choose.
