Class act
Mark from Jersey : 1/22/2020 6:15 pm : link
tough as nails, 2 rings, 2 SB MVPs.

I am happy for him...tough to stop doing something you love but the right move IMO...he has his health and a loving family.
Thank god

we never have to see him in another uniform.

Enjoy retirement, Eli. You've more than earned it. We'll miss you.

Ryan in Albany : 1/22/2020 6:18 pm : link
seems like yesterday I was sitting in my living room hearing about the trade with the Chargers and how excited I was that the Giants had Eli Manning in Blue.

Thanks for the amazing memories Eli!
Thank You Eli
Emil : 1/22/2020 6:19 pm : link
Thank you for your calm level headed demeanor, for being all class all the time, for never quitting, for delivering two super bowl victories, for carrying a team on your back in 2011, for denying Tom Brady two rings, for being the best prankster, for being silently strong, for turning in a legendary playoff performance against the 49ers, for being a family man, for being the calm in the storm, for your awww schucks attitude, and for being a Giant. AND THANK YOU FOR NEVER WEARING ANOTHER NFL UNIFORM.

Best QB in Giants history. Not even a discussion (No offense Phil). Wishing Eli all the best in retirement. Mission Accomplished. A career well earned and a retirement well deserved. God Bless you and yours.
Damn. Bittersweet
Matt M. : 1/22/2020 6:23 pm : link
But, am I the only one who wanted to see another year or two somewhere resulting in a playoff run?
See you in Canton

For the championships (two great upsets!), for the toughness, and most of all for the class!

Just a gem

of a player to root for. What can I say - he really is an amazing high character person who embodies all that team sports is supposed to teach you:

Grit, toughness, high character, studied hard, great teammate, and weathered all the tough times to become a champion. What a great athlete and person to have represent our team all these year!

How tough he played. No one else would have made it through that game, never mind win it. Such an under-rated player.

Well said. No doubt he had zero interest in drawing any more attention to himself than was appropriate
It has all been said already

Sad to see you go, but happy you did it in Giants blue!

How many teams go decades without even finding a franchise quarterback?
How many teams have one, but he's a jerk?
How many teams have one, but he's oft-injured?
How many teams have one that you can point your kids to with pride and say this guy is a role model for life?
Damn few, as we all know.
Thank you, Eli. More than we can say.

^This. I like that game more than any other except him beating Favre in the frozen tundra of Green Bay in the NFC championship game in 2008.
Thank You Eli

it's a relief for the Giants. Now teams who need a QB will still have to move up in the draft cause they can't sign Eli
Thank You Eli!!!

You're a Giant on and off of the field. You are the true definition of "class"
Have I ever felt more joy than on I did on Feb 3, 2008?

I’m pretty sure I haven’t. And then he treated us all again in 2012. I’ll always be so, so grateful Eli chose to play for our team. We’re the luckiest fans in the world.

Retire #10!

I was a sophomore in high school when you were drafted. Got your jersey that Christmas and have worn it every Sunday since.

Through all the ups and downs, the best I can come up with is simply, Thank You. For everything.

There’s been a lot of talk about holding onto Eli for too long, but you know what? I’m really glad he’s not taking a snap in any other uniform. An all time great Giant - I’ll miss watching him play.

Thank you Eli.

Eli helped create some great memories with my kids. Not just the Super Bowls, but sharing snacks and cheering for the Giants while drinking beer together (root beer for them) for all the regular season games too.

Cheers Eli!

Equalled in the hearts of true Blue fans, but surely he can never exceeded. Thanks, Eli, for all the great, great years of Giants football we had with you at the helm, and the two Lombardi trophies, too!

I remember posting on BBI during Eli's draft day trade in 2004.

Thank you for being the champion you are, on and off the field.

You are cherished in my household and you always will be.

Thank you.

thanks for the memories Eli.

Glad to see he's hanging them up - really would rather not find out whether another go at it next year would have worked out any better.
