As part of the NFL 100 campaign, the league is having a fan vote for the greatest moment in league history.
The top four are set. In no particular order, the Helmet Catch, the Immaculate Reception, the Dolphins' perfect season, or The Catch.
Vote as many times as you can. I just voted 20-30 times.

maybe so, but it will definitely win "all time dumbest play call" by acclamation LOL
My ratings:
1.) Tyree
2.) Immaculate Reception
3.) Dolphins perfect season (not really amount, more an accomplishment)
4.) The Catch
Sure, it was in the playoffs at a critical moment, but it isn't that unusual of a play. Was The Catch any more amazing than Cunningham escaping Banks' tackle to throw a TD pass? Or even the play by DeShaun Watson bouncing off two tacklers against the Bills to complete a pass to set up the tying field goal.
I'll say this:
For 49er fans, the Alex Smith throw to Vernon Davis was an insane play. Pretty routine for some of the top QBs possibly in a regular game, but that decisiveness with that little time left and the moment, huge.
Yeah, if I was a bit older than 2 years old, The Catch would have been ridiculous.
If it had been Simms to Bavaro, it'd be crystal clear.
All about context. I guess the only thing that could have made it more bulletproof was it being on 4th down instead of 3rd.
Also, many haters like to allege Montana was throwing it away (as if that means anything) but when has any QB ever thrown it away that resulted in a TD catch, let alone one that was nearly perfectly placed?
Or is only offense exciting ?
Also if there was replay back then it would've been interesting to see if the pass was tipped by Frenchie Fuqua or the Raider defender.
The rule at the time was an offensive player couldn't catch a tipped/deflected pass directly from another offensive player. It would've had to be tipped by the defender which is what the call on the field was.
I know a lot of Raider fans at the time swore it was tipped by Fuqua and probably still feel that way.
Even so, I have it at #2 behind the Tyree helmet catch, with Miami #3, and the head scratching as to why it's rated so high "Catch" at #4.
