Grows a beard. Drinks a lot of beer, maybe gets a little guy going. And does pregame appearances where he absolutely unloads on people like he wouldn't when he was playing.
Seriously, though, I think it was robbieballs who recently floated the idea of a the Giants and Eli creating a foundation to continue Eli's philanthropic endeavors. I thought that was an outstanding idea.
today MNF should go after BOTH Peyton and Eli for the booth.
He surmised that perhaps they can convince Peyton if they bring in Eli, he said that hes been around both of them together and that theyre very engaging and very funny.
Don't think it'll happen, appreciated the thought though.
at all. He’s never been comfortable in the spotlight, and I think that distancing himself from his public life is something he’s looking forward to.
But I hope I’m wrong and Payton become the next Madden/Summerall. Except brothers.
he stays in NJ. Enjoys his family for a couple years before we hear anything from him again. I don't see him coaching or on TV but the money is so good who knows.
RE: I can imagine he and Peyton joining forces to own an Â
it just looked bad because he wasn’t good enough to justify it anymore. His salary wasn’t the reason why we stunk, we basically failed at too man FA signings, poor drafts and poor coaching.
Eli making a few million peas per year wouldn’t have changed any of the above. Meanwhile Brady had the best coaching in the league - the slight discount Brady gave them didn’t make them consistently great.
and lays low for a whole, enjoying life at home with his family watching his kids grow up, being very active with them. Don’t see him in the both. Don’t see him coaching. Easy E is going to take it easy for a while, and God bless him for that.
...Oxford, MS. What he does from there, I have no clue.
His kids are 8, 6, 4 and 1, so at least the first two are in school. His wife has business and philanthropic interests in NY. It's not that easy to just pick up and move the whole family - they may prefer staying in the area.
Unless you have business or roots in the area, being rich in NJ isn't a wise idea.
The best gig in football is the CBS pre game show. It's in NY, you don't travel, and there's no crazies.
If Romo leaves and Phil ends up back on the road, I could see Eli on set.
Why? Sure it’s cheaper elsewhere but he has access to everything where he currently is. Great schools, business opportunities, transportation, and his roots have been here for over 15 years now.
I don’t see Eli Manning blowing his money just because he’s in the tri state area.

If he's got business reasons to stay, it's a great place to make money in his field. It's the easiest place to make money as an investor, being in the media, or staying in football.
If you're not there for work or family, being rich in New Jersey is not a wise idea. Might be nice and enjoyable, but not wise.
A person of his means doesn't need to be concerned Â
enjoying his home and life he made is reason enough to stay. He doesn’t seem the type to squander his earnings.
Lol of course it's an opinion, what else would it be?
NJ has the 3rd highest overall tax burden in the country, being rich in NJ costs a lot of money, and in my opinion if you don't have business or roots keeping you there it's not a wise decision.

Well prior to today his job was in New Jersey and he was making 25M dollars a year at it, so that seems like a good reason to live there.
Like I posted originally and a few times since, I get living in the tri-state area if your work is there or if you have roots. Maybe he considers it home now, who the fuck knows?
I also would guess he would stick around if he ends up working in the media or a business venture in the area.
My guess is, like many other wealthy people who've made their fortune in the tri-state area and either retire or move to a different line of business, they move somewhere else.
That's not a very exotic take. I'm not that wealthy and I know lots of people (including myself) who get out of the area when feasible because it's awfully expensive.
So is it really that much cheaper across the river? Â
NJ or Manhatten, He obviously likes where he lives now I don't really think after making 200M+ he's going to worry about additional tax vs living in overpriced Manhatten
he can afford it. Being rich in the tri state area is only a bad idea if you are dumb with your money. Your kinda calling him stupid for staying in NJ (if he indeed stays) which is my problem with your opinion. Just a weird comment to make. Not everyone’s goal in life is to find the cheapest housing possible, nor should it be.
In any case I’m betting he stays and will be just fine regardless of whether he collects another paycheck or not.
RE: I apologize if my post is considered political by the way Â
and that's the last we see of him as a consistent public figure.
He's always been the opposite of his brother. He never liked the spotlight. I think he'll just enjoy his family and money and we'll see him from time to time.

Hello OBJ!
Not happening.
The Cleveland Browns are near the bottom of the list of NFL teams in terms of value, but they're still worth over $2 billion.
My Eli prediction is that he ends up as an analyst on the SEC Network.
NFL Team Value - ( New Window )

NFL team. Perhaps one of the great long time franchises that's been in disarray for years, like the Cleveland Browns.

Did not read your post, but join Saban coaching staff as he seems to have the 4-5 star QB crowd vetted.

Jim, I think that’s a good prediction if Eli ultimately opts for TV work
I think Brady could pass that if he signs one more contract at $20M or >.
People wonder why we couldn’t field a team around him his entire career. Here’s part of the reason why and why the Pats continued to win.

Eli has made the most money in history, $3 million more than Peyton

Brees will pass it as well

To Peyton’s induction.... I kid.

That is reality. I left NJ because of property and state income tax...not political it is the truth.
