Colin mentioned him in Sy's draft thread and he's been getting some buzz lately. He dominated the senior bowl and was a force all year.
He's a force to be reckoned with at 6'6 310. Sort of a hybrid but can probably play DE on some rushing plays while moving inside on passing downs.
Some comps to Chris Jones of the Chiefs.
If he puts on a show at the combine I think he might be in play for the Giants, perhaps at 4 and especially if they trade back a few spots.
Anyone have their eye on Kinlaw?

To me it's LBer or OL

Why not? Giants arguably need a pass rush more than anything else.
LB isn't a premium position and OL might be a reach.
Not LW but Chris Jones, absolutely.
I was thinking the exact same thing. That said, he comes significantly cheaper than Williams. If we don’t re-sign him, maybe we look at drafting that type of player, but not at #4.
We have so many needs and so few picks. Let's not waste another pick on a dl.
Okudah or trade down
How many do we have that are worth a damn?

What, like we don't have plenty of CB's, too?
What I'm getting at is he's already around #7 on most boards and probably going to rise based on his senior bowl performance.
I'm not saying the Giants should reach for him but it wouldn't totally shock me if he gets a better grade than all of the OTs and maybe Simmons too.
B.J. Hill (3) and R.J. McIntosh (5), yes.
Dexter Lawrence (1), no.

talking about DTs as a priority? We already have one hundred of them.

3.
Quality DTs are one of the more easy positions to find. Not quite RB and WR, but next in line.
We have bigger, greater needs - as you know.

Three? I never knew you to be so effusive with your praise, or to overvalue our own players.
I'd say we have one quality DT. The rest are eminently average.
We lost our best cb Jackrabbitt and need to replace him.
Okudah will at some point be a shutdown corner imo
Hard to pass on one of those
I agree, but as Colin noted in Sy's thread (when discussing Simmons), "To defend against the 3-receiver set you have to play 5 DBs which means you are going to be playing a 4-2 upfront..." Just more food for thought.
For the record, Colin did not advocate drafting Kinlaw at #4. What he said was that if Kinlaw runs well he could move up into the 7-10 range.
The game is tomorrow. He's talking about the practices. Which are more important to the NFL personnel people than the game is. A lot of the personnel people don't even stay for the game.
Kinlaw is an absolute monster. I think he's going to go a lot higher than he's currently being projected by most draft sites. I think top 10, but no I don't think the Giants should draft him. I don't think he'll be the highest rated player on the board and I also think we are pretty set at his position.
As of right now my money is still on Isaiah Simmons. A lot can change between now and the draft.

Yes, any of these four - Lawrence, Hill, Tomlinson, and LW. All can play inside. It's arguably the strongest position we have on this defense.

Which still isn't saying much, considering how abysmal our LB's and DB's are.
Playmaking linebackers or edge rusher. That is what we need to be focusing on.

I don't see anything wrong with adding more strength to a current strength, like the Giants did when they drafted Tuck in 2005, Kiwanuka in 2006, or JPP in 2010.
He wowed them so much that he fell to the bottom half of the 4th round (#125 overall). Then he got hurt after appearing in 11 games (2 starts). What's your point?
IF we don't re-sign Williams I guess anything is possible.

Hey, I can't help it if our GM made a stupid trade.
Who are you quoting? Is that from last year's Senior Bowl practices? It still doesn't mean squat. Wren was projected as a mid-round pick, and that's where he went (even a bit lower than most projections). Kinlaw is projected to go somewhere in the 1st round (and I'm not even arguing that the Giants should draft him, only that I wouldn't be opposed to them taking a D-Lineman early).
