NGT: Anybody planning on watching the Pro Bowl?

Fred-in-Florida : 1/26/2020 7:59 am
Is there any interest? Over the years it's turned into a glorified flag/two handed touch game. Last year I remember Beckham playing corner and d-backs trying to run routes.

It's a big deal for the city here. Brings in a lot of revenue. Plus they hype up the week with a lot of practices at Disney's ESPN where there's a lot of fan exposure to the players.

So 2nd part .. Orlando, with Disney and to a lesser extent Universal, would this event be enough to bring you here.
Last time I watched the Pro Bowl

I was 12 years old.
No thanks.

Least interesting all star game in sports.
Thrilled I don't have to...

No Giants, no interest. No chance I tune in.
Yes

I’m not one of these football fans that say ah fuck the pro bowl and then actually watch it. It’s one of the highest rated television programs when it’s aired and will continue to be so. I will watch like I always do.
No to both questions
BlueVinnie : 1/26/2020 8:18 am : link
The game is unwatchable. It's got to be at least 20 years since I've watched even a part of it. The fact that the game and its surrounding events take place in Orlando would have no influence on whether I'd plan a vacation in Orlando.

You live close by..would you take a day to go to see some of the 'practices'?
I really have no interest.

How can it be called a football game?
The last one I watched had Simms in it

No

Zero interest in this game. It's a horrible waste of time

Not a chance....there is always a golf game being played which I'd rather struggle at than go to a practice.
It's like two-handed touch
Simms11 : 1/26/2020 9:08 am : link
now. Plus no Giants in the game. Its definitely a not watch.

SFGFNCGiantsFan : 1/26/2020 9:14 am : link
Nah. Haven't watched in eons.
Yeah!
Fred-in-Florida : 1/26/2020 9:59 am : link
That's the feeling I get. I may tune it in as a last resort if I'm sitting around and not doing anything.

Seems that it's a big honor for the players. "He made 3 pro bowls". I guess there could be incentives in the contracts but just doesn't extend out to the fans.

I'm not a big all-star game, in any sport, fan!
Take an hour ride East on I-4 to Daytona Beach and

watch the finish of the Rolex 24. Real racing and a great event. Unlike the Pro Bowl.

go to https://www.pluto.tv/live-tv/nfl-channel (Pluto TV is free, and is available on PC, Roku and Fire stick. You get NFL Channel old game replays (right now, I'm watching Falcons/Panthers from 2015, and Pats/Seahawks from 2012 is coming up!)

Lots of other good stuff on Pluto, for free! (MS3TK, Old Dr.
Who, Shout TV, etc).
even if there were some Giants playing

I still would not watch it.
Not only am I watching it,
Mr. Bungle : 1/26/2020 11:36 am : link
but I'm having about 15 people over, huge food and drink spread, a box pool, and I'm making a few bets on the game.

Biggest day of the year for me.
It's obvious the players don't want to play in it
jcn56 : 1/26/2020 11:54 am : link
they'd be better off having some sort of glorified awards ceremony with a basic skills competition and some highlights of each player throughout the year.
I'm watching Super Bowl 46. The Pro Bowl isn't really a football game

I think the last time I watched Brad Van Pelt was in it.

All the All-Star games are unwatchable, but even more so for a physically demanding game like football. Not watching the NHL crap either.

Lol

Plus they’ve got Boog and Tess calling this one. Best broadcasting duo in sports. A must listen

I've already told my guests twice that if they can't shut up so I can hear Boog & Tess, then they have to leave.

Kirk Cousins is managing to look awful in a game where playing defense is basically prohibited.
