Spartacus, of course, but some of my favorites were Town Without Pity, The War Wagon, Last Train from Gun Hill, Champion, Seven Days in May, Cast a Giant Shadow, and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

I caught Cast a Giant Shadow by accident one night and was of course immediately enthralled. What an incredible cast! But none shown brighter than young Austrian beauty Senta Berger.
He had written a fiction book and was signing them at the Rizzoli in the then World Financial Center, so I went to get a book signed. The lady in front of me was so in awe that she literally couldn't speak, so Kirk had the guard move the table and let the woman go behind and he put his arm around her, gave her a big hug, asked her name, what she does etc. until she finally felt comfortable enough to speak. I was a such a classy move.

Cast a Giant Shadow - ( New Window )
I put a picture of Senta Berger in a "best burger" thread not too long ago.
One additional note about Cast a Giant Shadow. John Wayne was on board to produce, as well as make a cameo appearance, before Douglas was cast, and Wayne was adamant that Douglas should star in it. Funny that although they were on opposite ends of the political spectrum, they put their differences aside when it came to making movies, and they made some really good ones together.
