I know it hasn't been a whole lotta fun for Rutgers football fans, but I can tell you flat out that you got a real good player in New Rochelle's Jessie Parson who led the Huguenots to the NYS Class AA Championship last season.
In his senior year, he broke New Rochelle football school records in all-purpose yards (2,116), rushing yards (1,684) and total touchdowns (30) while averaging 14.6 yards per carry.
Putting aside that he's one of the fastest (if not fastest) high school athletes in New York State, he is also very football savvy in setting up his blockers and finding a seam no matter how small. And once he squares up it's over. He is also a very mature young man.
I've been to practically every game he played at New Rochelle. Rutgers fans are in for a special treat!
If you say so, maybe Parson could duplicate what Ray brought to Rutgers?

Yes, Ray Rice also went to New Rochelle High School where he is currently an assistant coach.
But they are different players. Ray Rice is built low to the ground, thick-set and very muscular. His game was short-area quickness and then a nice burst upfield.
Jesse Parson is taller and leaner with a specialty of getting out on the edge and evaporating all angles of pursuit. Ray Rice's game was much more between the tackles.
Ray Rice was fast, but not "special fast." Jessie Parson is "special fast."
is headed to Rutgers -- Cedrice Paillant, offensive line. After New Rochelle he went to a local 2-year college (Monroe).
Very fine player!
of Jessie Parson (who also played CB).
The crazy thing is that every team New Rochelle played knew Jessie Parson would come around on a jet sweep (there was not a whole lotta deception), but it didn't matter.
Whoosh!

A few thoughts:
(1) Just as there's no sure bet how a college player's game translates into the pros, the same goes for high school to college;
(2) I'm not sure if RB is Jessie Parson's best position. I don't believe he has the build to smash it between the tackles 15 times a game (like Ray Rice);
(3) Jessie Parson may be better built for WR, and I could envision Rutgers putting him in motion with the option of giving him the ball on jet sweeps;
(4) Ray Rice came to Rutgers and started right off the bat -- I'm not sure Jessie Parson will;
(5) New Rochelle High School is not known as a hot-bed for Division 1 recruiting. In retrospect, however, there are a lot of programs that wished they handed out a full boat to Ray Rice;
(6) There's no guarantee Jessie Parson turns into a star at Rutgers. But he has something coaches cannot teach: speed and more speed.
He’s a Preferred Walk On. So it’s not like Rutgers took a huge risk. Schiano has had some luck in finding guys who contribute as walk ons but I expect if this kid wasnt from Ray Rice’s HS story slid to be much more than a quick note. Kid just may not be big enough.
Now they just got their first 2021 commit and the kid is atop 10 player from Camden. Clark. DB. Huge early pick up Fran Brown laying huge dividends w the getting kids in 2020 and now 21
