Does anybody have the game film or link when LT had double digit tackles and had numerous snaps as an Outside Corneback and Safety? Thats what I instantly thought of when watching Simmons game tape!

They'd start at one end of the block and race to the other. the only rule - you have to climb over every roof !
They share some specific attributes, such as speed, range and sure tackling; but they also have differences.
Simmons uniqueness is his ability to play multiple positions from LB to safety. As LB he can cover the TE, his recovery ability is extraordinary, but his rush is scheme dependent; he could be blocked at the line of scrimmage if they knew he was coming. LT didn't care if you knew he was coming.
Simmons can excel in a defense built around his strengths, e.g. the "multiple" philosophy as he was used in Clemson.
(You never knew if he was going to drop back as safety, cover the slot receiver or rush the passer when Clemson crowded the line.)
Granted, Grahams schemes seem well suited for Isaiah; and he is a "coach on the field" and of high character.
I think his strengths would fit in with the NYG.
On other teams he might be just another Julius Peppers.

so I don't think he's some kind of kid. But I think these LT comparisons (which we read often on BBI) are misguided. LT just isn't a useful measuring stick against which other players can be judged. He was too unique a talent, too unusual a combination of power, strength, speed, agility and drive.
It's hard to understand what he was, and what he was capable of on a football field, unless you watched him a lot. He didn't get the tackle or sack on every play, the Giants still lost plenty of games with him in the lineup, but was the definition of a "game-wrecker." It was like having a tornado on your team. Sometimes he'd do something nobody thought could be done — so there was no defense against it.
He was a flawed man but a unique football talent.
Simmons is a nice player. And everybody has some LT traits, like legs and arms and lungs. But Simmons didn't dominate college ball the way LT did (even given that the 1980 ACC wasn't comparable to the 2019 SEC), it's unlikely he'll dominate immediately in the NFL the way LT did. So the similarities are kind of limited.
Literally the only similarities are height and weight. They’re not in the same stratosphere in terms of speed, or coverage ability, pursuit, tackling ability, play diagnosis. For instance Leonard Floyd had 0 interceptions in college, Isaiah Simmons has 4 in 2 years, 1 of them coming from playing the deep half. Leonard Floyd has never shown that capability ever, not even in practice. Watching Floyd try to cover a tight end looks a lot like him about to trip over his own two feet.
Watch Simmons touchdown saving tackle on J.k. Dobbins, Leonard Floyd is never making that play. He’s much closer to Derwin James then Floyd. The prospect closer to Floyd is our very own Lorenzo Carter. The comparison is lazy

Anthony Barr is a pretty good comp, I remember a lot of draftniks saying how soft he was. His first 2 years in the league he forced 5 fumbles. Funny how gaining 15 pounds can completely change a prospect

If the Giants see fit to draft him, I'm all in. But I don't see any real comparison to LT, for the reasons stated by others above. LT got himself in the play even when you didn't think he could.

Simmons is a stud. He is not LT or Ray Lewis for that matter. Completely different skill set. He will be an excellent pro “ defender”. Don’t try to limit the possibilities. And yes, he can be very aggressive and physical.
or has come close. With that said, you can’t deny that Simmons has unique tools to be affective in the NFL. If the Giants feel that they can use him appropriately, he should be strongly considered.
Are actually when he’s in the position OP talks about. LT was sometimes a 3rd corner, he was sometimes a flat out outside #2 corner on receivers, he was very often the free safety in Goalline situations.
Not exactly what you’re looking for OP, but search “LT Goal line” for a vid that encapsulates his athletic ridiculousness.
Simmons is fun and has the quickness/athleticism, but is miles and miles behind on power. Not even close to a valid comp.
But comparing him to LT is just not fair. LT was and still is, the single best defensive player ever. He did things I haven’t seen before or after with his speed, power and relentlessness.
LT was a beast, a monster that scared everyone. Simmons is finesse but LT was the purest example of destruction the NFL has ever seen. Strength, speed, finesse, determination, desire, badassness rolled all into one phenomenal individual the world has not seen since.
Just stop it. If there's one guy I absolutely would not take with a high pick it's Simmons. You don't take a guy without a clear cut position that high.
I see a nice player. He's versatile. A huge part will be the coach that gets him. I dont know, I think guys like Young and Okudah fit everywhere. Simmons?

They would come at him at full speed and dive at his legs and he had this incredible ability to absorb and deflect the blow and stay upright. I’ve never seen it before or since. He was the best football player of my lifetime.
