at least until the coaches have a better chance to evaluate him and the scheme they will play. I think he was playing a bit out of position as the first-in-coverage LB (call it the weakside LB, or the Moneybacker, or whatever) but the Giants didn't have a better guy to do that for most of the season. He should have been playing more as the run-stopping LB (strong side LB, or MLB in the 4-3 defense). He may be cut anyway before free agency, just not an early cut.
Tate definitely stays (need to find a way for him and Shepard to both play slot at the same time). Solder almost definitely stays. Martin is gone. Bethea too. Ellison probably gone.
There are several guys like Gallman who have relatively cheap contracts and are playing to their contracts but not above their contracts (due to injuries, lack of coaching, scheme or whatever). There is no cap advantage to cutting those guys now until you see how they look.
What was most displeasing watching him during the 2019 season was his poor read/reactionary skills. So often he was out of position or ran himself out of position almost to the point where he was just guessing, and typically guessing wrong.
Not saying we should expect All-Pro attributes from him but he certainly needs to display more savy and experience on field with his volume of starts.
RE: Ogletree is a bit of a mess out there right now.

The whole defense was a mess out there. Every play it seemed someone didnt know where to be. Just hope it was coaching and not the talent and mindset of the players because then we will be in trouble for a long time.

I don't typically blame the coaching. Not saying Bettcher and his crew were any good but my post was about where a very experienced inside LB looked like a lost rookie. Hope all you want but AO kind of stinks.

Sans Tate & Solder... But nothing shocks me... well except that Tom Quinn is still a coach on this team... That dude must be able to suck the chrome off of a bumper.
8mill is NOT BAD AT ALL for his production level. he is tough as nails too. i think he was an underrated signing
tate/shep/slayton is a solid top 3 to go into next season.
next year, id look for a big WR if slayton doesnt improve or stay the course.
this year focus on defense rebuild meaning 2-3 LBers
and OL 2-3 new starters
