I played the theme song from that show on my Google Home just this afternoon. Even though the show was not anywhere near the truth of the VMF-214 and the real Pappy Boyington was a douch… the show was very entertaining. I still marvel a that airplane (F4U Corsair) because of the show...
Big fan of his from Baa Baa Black Sheep and Wild Wild West.
He may have had a chance against Gabe Kaplan if he wasn’t smoking a cigarette prior to their race. Ha! Crazy how at that time, smoking on air was no big deal.

Cosby was a great comic; a terrible person evidently.
I don't care what side of the aisle Robin Williams or Jonathan Winters were, they were comic geniuses!
On the other hand if they use their talent and fame for political purposes, then it is fair to dump on them.
(E.g. Kathy Griffin, Jimmy Kimmel, Jane Fonda et al)

Columbo villians. Played an arrogant fitness guru which I don't think was too big a stretch but they say just playing yourself is one of the hardest things for an actor to do so mucho respect on that one.
Backstory: NBC had "Baywatch" (as a summer replacement show, I think) and didn't pick it up, David Hassellhoff knew he had something, slimmed down, got it made in first-run syndication and "the rest is history."
So while "Baywatch" was at its peak, Conrad came in to NBC attached to an action-adventure series, rescue teams working in high mountains, yada yada yada.
The NBC people kept wanting changes to the pitch. They want it to be sexier. They want it to be more like "Baywatch." More hard bodies in slow motion. More skin. "More like 'Baywatch,'" they keep saying.
After the umpteenth time of them saying that, Conrad lost patience. "HEY!," he says. "You HAD 'Baywatch.'"
("High Sierra Search and Rescue" was picked up by NBC and ran for 8 episodes in 1995. I don't remember if it was much like "Baywatch.")
Guess someone finally knocked the batteries off his shoulder Â

One of my favorite shows when I was a kid. Learned later on that they had an incredible crew of stuntmen who worked with Conrad on all of the fight scenes, and that once he suffered a pretty serious injury in one, jumping up to hang on a chandelier, but taking a bad fall swinging off of it.
They always had awesome villains, especially Michael Dunn as Dr. Loveless, plus the best gadgets and eye candy. Conrad and Ross Martin really worked well together, playing off each other's strengths. I guess now they can ride the train together once again.
was one of those game show celebrities who nobody knew what they did to become famous in the first place ala Brett Somers and Bobby Van/Elaine Joyce. He was a Broadway actor at one point apparently. Also on Carson a lot which I don't remember but can believe because he was a great raconteur.

He also did a ton of TV, from the early '50's up until this year.
Among his many roles, he starred in one of the "lighter" episodes of The Twilight Zone, Mr. Bevis.

But the highlight was him talking shit on Battle of the Network Stars, and Mr. Kotter absolutely smoking him in a race.

The younguns here don’t have any idea who he is.
He was also Andrew Breitbart's father in-law and help found Breitbart news

Apparently he died because he got hit by a car. Two to be specific. Very sad.
