Bret Bielema “very” interested in Mich St job per sources. There has been contact between the parties but not much more than that. Good culture fit with BB’s B10 roots. Many reporting this morning. Not sure where Luke Fickell is with his interest in the job.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
The Detroit Free Press has an article on it citing a "source"

They could "move" Sherrer to OLB coach (he was the OLB coach with Georgia and coached Lorenzo Carter) and hire an ILB coach like Pierce.
Hahaha, bravo
True. In the 70’s, All the women working in the Giants organization we’re absolutely coeds. Now they’re all senior citizens .
don't be stupid.
also the money aspect. i believe arkansas was still paying him up until last year but they realized new england was only paying him 50K and stopped payments.
arkansas quit paying bielema buyout - ( New Window )

Let me just say that I think it would be awesome if Joey Porter became the OLB coach. I have no idea how good of a coach he is, but man, what a competitor.
But not so awesome if it turns out he sucks as a coach. It's kind of an important part of the job.
Well, yeah, but imagine Joey Porter on the Giants coaching staff. It'd be so cool...at least for a while.
I’m sure Judge’s feelings have changed after this news...
That said, how does MSU sell to the public, given it's recent history of sexual abuse, hiring a guy who has been found to be dating coeds?
Ah well, that's MSU's issue.
As a side note, Robert Saleh already turned down the MSU job.
Excellent point.
Maybe he could share a cell with Nassar?
You mean Judge can't make a mistake?

Whether it's Joey Porter, Pepper Johnson, or Antonio Pierce, I never assume there's any connection between being a good player and being a good coach. Completely different skill sets.
I'm well aware. Just saying Joey Porter on the sidelines would be awesome.
I have nothing against him or his hiring. I’m of the belief that, if he goes, fine, no harm done. Better now than closer to the season.
While the last part of this is definitely true, we don't really know what Judge thought of him. For all we know, it was a weak field for OLB coaches and Bielema was just the best of the bunch. There might not be much of a drop off to the next candidate.

the Giants will miss him. Judge thought he was the best OLB candidate out there. Some of you guys are in denial.

They essentially poached him from Belichick's staff. I have to think Judge had a very high opinion of him.
A good choice, also with Badger connections.
