The coronavirus' impact on life in China has reportedly made an unforseen impact on the NHL as equipment companies that primarily make their hockey sticks in the country have halted production.
NBC Sports hockey analyst Pierre Maguire first made this claim during the broadcast of a Buffalo Sabres-Detroit Red Wings game on Thursday. On Saturday, the Boston Globe's Matt Porter reported that while hockey stick manufacturers disputed that there is a "major shortage" of sticks, the situations could quickly leave many players shorthanded.
Can you imagine as the teams close in on the playoffs teams walking into Hockeymonkey or Pure Hockey picking sticks off of the rack or at the very least using less quality sticks from manufacturers such as Bauer? Watch those sticks snap.

The only way to "fix" that country is to financially punish them until they make things right. The way they treat and handle their food is horrendous.
Go google "chinese gutter oil" and have a good wretch.
Frankly, i'm not sure why we aren't trying to provide incentives to companies for relocating more manufacturing to Mexico and Latin/South American countries. Seems like a no brainer to me, create jobs in those places and help to solve the immigration issue. I would think it would be much easier on shipping as well.

I hear you, but this crap will just continue until someone has the balls to say enough.

When I was in China several years ago, their government cracked down on people caught using the oil, including reported death sentences. I don't really think you can hold the government responsible - this is more of an issue regarding rogue oil refinement that is then sold to restaurants and pharmeceutical companies.

Right. 'Do it somewhere else' always sounds good, but no one has the capacity for most of the manufacturing that gets discussed.
