So painful to watch right and sadly knox is worse. I feel bad for Knox, the pst 15 games or so for Knox May be playing the worst basketball I have ever seen from a nba player. No exaggerations he has not shown anything positivr
Is so bad. To me he should be getting the vet min not 15 million a year. Hopefully they buy him out.
And I’m definitely worried about Barrett. His lack of foot speed and overall athleticism is jarring. I’m not sure what he’s going to excel at going forward. Maybe he’s still hurt but not liking what I’m seeing.
And please just move on from DSJ. Don’t care that the KP trade was a massive ripoff- just move on from the mistake. He’s awful.
Only "upside" is the incoming regime doesn't have to clean up a mess from a salary cap standpoint, and has plenty of draft picks. Previous regimes were doomed from the start. If Leon Rose is confident in his abilities, I'm sure he sees an opportunity here. Still can't believe Stoute went on First Take - there are plenty of softer landing spots if you want to get your pro-Knicks message out there. Stephen A. and Max are just gonna troll you.
Jaxon Hayes, Rui Hachimura, and Brandon Clarke are all looking good. Hayes is the big surprise there for me, I thought he had bust written all over him.
Clarke at #21 is looking like the steal of the draft. Only Zion and Ja have been better.
I got crushed on here when I said after his first summer league game that I could tell right away he will never be star because he is very unathletic.. He will certainly get better as a player and has the work ethic, but he looks like a 40 year veteran when he tries to speed dribble up the floor. He is so slow. His upside to me is hopefully 3rd best player kn a contending team. Knox has been awful but I hid upside is way higher than Barrett but he seems like he lacks the mental part to get there.
really sad Players Tribune article by Eddy Curry. Can't help but feel for the guy given all the jokes made about him over the years (myself included) Link - ( New Window )
When the Knicks landed in the #3 spot in the lottery Â
I was pushing the idea that they should trade down with Atlanta for #8 and #10 and take Tyler Herro and Brandon Clarke. Before I pat myself on the back too much, my reasoning was that those two guys would be effective role players around KD and Kyrie, while RJ would be an awkward fit. Welp. Turns out that trade still would've been a good one.
Not much to be excited about right now. Leon Rose should be given the freedom to trade anyone on this roster, including RJ and Mitch.

His defense is alarming too. Doesn’t have good feet or lateral quickness. I know it’s early and he’s young, but I just don’t see it with him.
Givony and Mike Schmidt did a mock draft of guys in the rising stars game based on potential and Barrett slotted in at 7 ahead of Ayton, Clarke and Herro. Schmidt wrote:

I wasn't as high on Barrett pre-draft as some, but this is great value here in this mock draft, and I think it would be wise to not overreact to an ugly rookie season for a 19-year-old.
Barrett's 46.7% true shooting is historically bad for a top-three pick, but he deserves a bit of a pass, given the Knicks' porous roster construction. Barrett is an aggressive, physical slasher who needs space to operate. Unfortunately, the Knicks are arguably the worst shooting team in the NBA, ranking last in made 3s and bottom-five in 3-point percentage. That lack of spacing is a big reason Barrett is shooting just 41% at the rim in the half court and ranks in the 12th percentile on pull-up jumpers.
Barrett is a better player than he has been able to show with this Knicks group, and New York's drafting a player such as LaMelo Ball could help his efficiency. I'll bet on Barrett's work ethic and competitiveness as reasons he'll evolve into a very good NBA player in time.
They'd have a hard time beating Brad Lohaus and Blue Edwards in NBA Jam

This is a nightmare I doubt we ever wake up from until we get new ownership.

Anyone picked after Barrett looking like the goods? I'd like to torture myself some more.
