Out of all the 30 for 30 shows, Vick is the one we needed a double dose of? Not one of their better ones IMO...but my disinterest in the material likely jades my thoughts on the topic.
the guy just seemed to love the smell of his own farts. "The world can't get enough of Mike Vick." Always refers to his career as more than what it was.
Bottom line is he was never a super cerebral player or orator so I don't think I'll be seeking this out.
I believe he paid his debt to society. By all accounts hes working to help better the plight of dogs and working to prevent this happening in the future.
Vick is beloved down south. A lot of people seem to insinuate that If you dont forgive him youre a racist, which is absurd. I understand why someone would hate the guy even though I myself do not
RE: People don't give a shit about the plight of other humans
But have y'all seen factory farming and slaughterhouse videos?
Are they pitting farm animals against each other in fights to the death for pleasure now too? Then electrocuting, or drowning the losers with their bare hands? Kinda different don't you think?
Wouldnt waste a minute of my life on anything Vick
Related, or the Aaron Hernandez crap. Dont understand the fascination. OJ at least had an interesting trial, which is the only reason I tuned into that
The difference is that people perpetuate the violence against

Different, sure. But if this about the capriciousness and savagery, they are both up the same alley.
I thought the first part was decent, but they really built him up into something he never was in the NFL. When I watched that part of it, it was hard to not keep thinking he was a runner playing QB, and a sensational one, but always a mediocre passer at best.
I suppose they needed to do that to make the fall in part 2 more dramatic. I thought the first part could have been much more brief. They spent a lot of time belaboring the same points.

Same. Obviously, I've always despised Vick. I have no idea what is so interesting about Aaron Hernandez. I saw that thing pop up on Netflix and couldn't for the life of me understand why anyone cared. What makes him any different than Rae Carruth? Yet, no one ever made chin-tugging documentaries about him.

I feel most of his lacking as a passer was related to him not spending time in the film room or working on fundamentals. He openly admitted to relying on physical ability and not spending the extra time perfecting his mental game or working on his footwork as a passer. Vick had a tremendous arm, his accuracy I feel was directly impacted by his lack of attention to film study and footwork.
people act like Vick maliciously set out to kill dogs
yea dog fighting isn't a pretty thing but for some its a cultural thing. theres an ugly side, but theres an ugly side to a lot of hobbies that involve animals, hunting included. All these dog activists are completely fine with the generational inbreeding and forced cross breeding of an animal for their own selfish amusement but make two dogs fight and its game over?
personally I think its worse that people buy dogs for their own amusement and abandon them because they're not fit to take care of another living being.
don't look at the USA, look at other countries where there are entire gangs of stray dogs roaming towns because people selfishly bought them and can't take care of them. should those people be put in the clink too?
the way people reacted to Vick when it all went down was disgusting. people were waving effigy's of Vick, a black man from VA, with a noose around his neck. absolutely disgusting.
i'm not defending his actions, he broke the law. he also did more than enough to pay for his crime and people still can't get over it.
Why are so many people so triggered by PETA? Im not a member, but I get why they promote the things they do. Do I feel warm and fuzzy inside when I see an truck full of pigs on their way to get slaughtered?
Its something I struggle with. Not to derail the thread or change course, but I saw animal rights referenced above and Im curious about the PETA piece.
But will loose their mind over a damn dog. Hilarious and hypocritical.
Crazy, right?
Don't get me wrong. I have a few hunting dogs that I love. They actually help put food on the table. But if they were to ever run up on an apex predator (eg bear), welp... they better follow my command from a distance.

+2 Psychotic people abuse animals. Awful.

You must be a cat person...
How about this, I wouldn't pit human beings to fight to the death for profit either. It's never ok to torture any living creature.

Tail docking, castration, teeth chipping, de-beaking , are all done without anesthesia, and are standard operating procedure.

I didnt know we had to pick just one, who knew?
