#Redskins are releasing CB Josh Norman, source says. Intriguing situation to watch, as he now has time to find his new team ahead of free agency.

Alright, which one of you said, 'kick the tires?'

Lmao! I think the Redskins are a better bet to sign him. Could you imagine DG and Norman at a negotiating table after Carolina? Lol!
Norman
BobsYourUncle : 2/14/2020 9:46 am : link
Is done... cooked I tell you.
He now has time to find a new team before free agency?
Jay on the Island : 2/14/2020 9:47 am : link
LOL, he was benched by Washington last season and when he was forced onto the field he was the worst ranked CB in football IIRC. Keep in mind that Washington is weak at CB to begin with. Who wants to add a terrible player with a huge ego?

CLE presser forthcoming ;-)

What did you say? We signed a free agent CB?
And just what part of this makes it
LBH15 : 2/14/2020 9:52 am : link
"intriguing"?
Norman
Archer : 2/14/2020 10:02 am : link
This creates an interesting situation
Washington has arguably the worst defensive backfield in football

Do they consider Okudah if they trade down
It makes a lot of sense as their DL is not bad .Young is the best player but corner is a much bigger need
Norman's a jerk.
NoPeanutz : 2/14/2020 10:06 am : link
How much dead money does WAS take for this?

Haha! You win BBI today
Didn't Rivera coach in Carolina?
George from PA : 2/14/2020 10:08 am : link
I know it ended badly....with DG
James Bradberry
Mark in ATL : 2/14/2020 10:15 am : link
Wouldn’t be surprising to see James Bradberry FA CB from Carolina sign with the Redskins. Bradberry may be the second best FA CB.

Just $3m. They save $12.5 on his salary.

The guy is done. It was an obvious move for the Skins.

Now maybe Okudah
barens : 2/14/2020 10:20 am : link

Norman and Beckham on the same team? How can we make this happen?

Yeah, if he is so good, the redskins would have to consider him. Doubtful they could trade back much and still land him.
Rivera, who coached him, wants him off his team asap

Very good point. They were 10th in the league in sacks. With Sweat getting another year under his belt, and Allen starting to show some life, they have the parts to create pressure.

And finally, I'd like to tell Josh Norman not to let the door hit him in the ass on his way out.
This isn't funny
jcn56 : 2/14/2020 11:36 am : link
Well, it kind of is, but it's not - the one thing we could count on for a long time was the Redskins making stupid moves. The last thing we want to see out of them is competence, and this is a sign of that.
One tire you don't want to kick because
micky : 2/14/2020 11:44 am : link
It'll come back to get you.....

Norman and Olsen, kick the tires! They fit the Giants mold for free
Jack Stroud : 2/14/2020 11:52 am : link
agents, old, slow, and used up!
Now, if the Browns would just sign him....

Makes me hopeful he's wearing the big boy pants and might not love Hungry Hungry Haskins.
Norman
blueblood : 2/14/2020 3:46 pm : link
SO OVERRATED !!!!
Not suggesting Norman could do this or we would want him under any
Ivan15 : 2/14/2020 6:54 pm : link
Conditions, but remember how the Giants have gotten a couple of good seasons out of old CBs who switched to safety.

Goes at least as far back as Everson Walls.
Greg Olsen
jacob12 : 2/14/2020 8:05 pm : link
Greg Olsen is old and injured. He was an outstanding tight end and an exceptional athlete. At the NFL Combine, Olsen was 6-5-255 and ran a 4.51 40-yard dash.
Free agency
GFAN52 : 2/14/2020 8:47 pm : link
Quote:
There is another message at play here: Expect the Redskins to be aggressive in free agency.

The team desperately needs cornerbacks now, and that will be a target. Tight end too.

When the new NFL year opens in mid-March, Washington could have more than $75 million in cap space.

Okudah is a possibility
LakeGeorgeGiant : 2/15/2020 2:11 pm : link
for Washington, but I dont think Norman's departure makes it a greater possibility. Norman was cooked and their secondary was trash yesterday.
I think he'd be a good fit
Geomon : 2/15/2020 6:03 pm : link
for the DC Defenders.
