A terrific shortstop. If I am recalling correctly, he was the last one to hold the position on the Yankees before Jeter.

Yup, I remember him well with the 95 Yanks, I used to go to a lot of games back then. He was a little past his prime at that point, but still excellent in the field.

Had gone to a Mets game with friends and had gone down to field level during warmups. Spoke with him and Tim Bogar. Both were extremely nice guys.

He was not happy about being moved to 2B before Spring Training 1996. He got hurt, I believe covering the bag on a DP, they signed Mariano Duncan and dassit.

So smooth in the field and damn good at the plate too. Really was a glue guy on those good Jay's teams of the 80's.

I think Duncan hit .340 in 1996, if I recall.
