i think Young and Okudah are gone by our pick and it opens up the possibility for a trade down scenario to fall into our laps.
I don't know why, but I have a feeling that we will become enamored with the Simmons at LB and we will take him instead of trading down, which I honestly do not mind.
is smoke and mirrors. There isn't a team in the NFL that leaks information about who they are taking with their draft pick unless it's a planned false leak in order to throw other teams a red herring.
I would bet every cent I have that the Skins will take Young unless they have an offer to trade down that is so over the top as to be ridiculous

In principle you are correct about this time of year, but let's think about this one. Why the hell would the Redskins want people to think they want Okudah? How would that benefit them in the slightest? It would appear they are in the driver's seat. They can sit tight and take Young without any deception.
Between Young, Okudah, and the QBs. Good chance we will have options to grab one of these two defenders or deal back, possibly for one of the top OTs + picks.

I agree. If the draft falls like this, and we have our pick of any QB not names Burrow, there will be a rush to trade our pick by a few teams. Good trade down opportunity

"They" are doing it just to fuck with the minds of Giants' fans who peruse BBI, clearly!
To keep the "Chase Young might slip to 4 overall" theorem alive.
they drafted Sweat last year and Okudah has Jalen Ramsey talent without being a headcase. I still think they put a price tag on the #2 pick and see if Miami will bite and give up several picks to move up and drop back to #5.
My fear is that Young and Okudah are both off the board and Miami isn't motivated to trade up with the Giants to insure a pick if they see no difference between Tua and Herbert because one will fall to them. So that means a team like the Panthers trading up with the Giants to grab a QB and the market doesn't materialize. So long as Miami is motivated to trade up, I think the Giants are in a good spot, if not, I don't think that it works out as well as it could.

If Young and Okudah are gone and nobody is looking to move up, Dave probably goes Willis/Thomas or (I hate to say it) the top WR. In the end, I don’t think they’ll be enamored with Simmons. I know it won’t be Brown.

Miami trading with the Giants is virtually DOA. There is no reason to trade up one position to get a QB when they know the Giants aren't taking one. Only way is if Detroit trades to a team with QB aspirations and only one of the QBs is left. Even so, if either Okudah or Young is available at #4, they would know the Giants aren't moving.

I'm saying if they have no preference of Tua or Herbert. If they want one for sure, and they are motivated, that works great for the Giants. I'm just worried about another Cedric Jones mess where the Giants entire plan was to hope that someone would take Lawrence Phillips.
While it still seems highly improbable Young falls to #4
I agree the Giants are in a strong position at this point. Simmons or Okudah would be excellent picks and they are likely to have at least 1 or 2 reasonable trade down options. Those are particularly interesting if we can still land a top OT with the 1st round spot we trade back to.
I'm saying if they have no preference of Tua or Herbert. If they want one for sure, and they are motivated, that works great for the Giants.
It's highly unlikely that a team will have no preference between Tua and Herbert. They have very different strengths and weaknesses. It's possible that a team will like both QBs, but they will like one more than the other. And given the importance of the position, even a small difference in preference will be meaningful enough to motivate trading up for the preferred prospect.
That would be my guess too.
Having argued twice on here in the past month that the Redskins are not a lock to take Young with #2, I now believe they would be crazy not to.
Tua's and Herbert's stock will both rise between now and the draft. Burrow goes #1, Young surely goes #2, but after that anything can happen.
Surely at the back of the Redskin's mind must be that if they don't take Young, the best player available by some mark, there's a real risk he falls to their divisional opponents.
Only justification I see for that is if they went in for a quarterback themselves with the second pick.
Can somebody explain truthfully why they are enamored with Simmons? He’s basically a better Carlock, but don’t really think he is 4 overall worthy. He needs to bulk up looks very small. Listed at 245, no way. If it is between Simmons or a trade back, such an easy trade back decision.
Young falls to the Giants, but Dave trades down for a box of doughnuts, a pretzel, and a hot dog.
BBI explodes.
If Young is there, I don't see DG trading down for less than two 2nd rounders, or even a 1st and a 2nd. He's already known for not trading down in general and he has repeatedly stressed that we need to rush the passer. I don't see him passing on Young for, say, just one 2nd round pick. Just my opinion.

I take it you didn't watch much Clemson Football the past 3 years?

With all due respect, its absolutely absurd to compare Simmons to Carlock. Absurd.

Accurate
Not for Giants
Burrows
Tua
Hebert
Brown
Giants could pick at 4
Young
Okudah
Simmons
Giants could pick with trade down to 10 or less
OT (You pick)
OT (You pick)
Juery
Lamb
It will really come down to the grades on Young, Okudah, Simmons vs any trades that are offered.

If Young somehow fell to the Giants pick and it wasn't because of anything negative on his part, Gettleman himself will run to the podium.
