know that there is no more gracious athlete than Ike Hilliard.
The guy used to sign and greet fans after the late afternoon practice until the sun used to start going down. He was there in his practice pants and t-shirt when half of his teammates were probably already eating dinner.
I will always root for him based on my interactions with him as a fan.
Ike was there at the same time. He was so cool. He would have been my best man if I asked him. (had someone there for that) The day of our wedding Ike came up to me at breakfast and asked how I was feeling lol. We took a pic together and I told him I'd see him up at camp in Albany in August. (it was March)
So I waited in the parking lot after lunch, Ike came walking out of his car and everyone was calling his name, he didn't lift up his head at all until I screamed Ike, remember Jamaica! His head popped up and caught my eye and he came right over. I had the pic we took together with me and he signed it for me. Still have it in my downstairs bar! Great guy...

Ike was the nicest athlete I ever met....

Yes . He would always be out there for the fans. I remember Howard Cross doing the same thing ( about fifty yards away) around the same time as Ike.
Surprised this wasn’t brought up in the thread. I guess lots of youngens and otherwise folks wanting to forget 2000. Lol. Not a good super bowl although one bad holding call on “ the hammer “ changed the game for the worse for us but i digress ... nfc championship game vs vikings at giant stadium. Best game I have ever attended. Ike scored 3 tds in the first half and torched the Viking secondary in the ny giants crushing dominating nfc chamionahip game victory. That was a great season and Ike was a tremendous part of that team and those good teams that just underachieved a bit under fassel.
Didn't he sign a one day contract with us so he could retire a Giant? Maybe I'm confusing him with Amani on that.
Seems like the IPA Sours haven't effected your memory at all. Ike did sign a one day contract and retired as a Giant. I believe he did it around the same time Tyree did. Cheers though.
Dawkins should have been suspended for that hit
